Chicago Sky Fall 2016 Ticket Sales Internship - Chicago Sky (Skokie, IL)

The Chicago Sky is seeking excited, outgoing, and dedicated candidates that will interact with the general public while being an integral part of ongoing ticket sales efforts. The ticket sales intern will be a vital part of assisting the Sky sales team in all aspects of selling, fulfilling and executing sales initiatives. 

The position will gain hands-on experience in sales and marketing through implementing and planning for the 2016 Season as well as games during the season. Interns will also assist in facilitating grassroots marketing events including mascot appearances. 

Note: While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sports marketing world, it is a non-paid position. However, there is potential to earn sales commission.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact ticket sales prospects via phone, email, and LinkedIn to sell Sky ticket packages
  • Assist in planning and executing various grassroots marketing activities with ticket department in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness
  • Set up and transport various Sky products and materials to and from events, festivals, tournaments, leagues, etc
  • Raise fan support and Sky ticket sales through lead generation, cold calls, and events
  • Aid VP of Ticket Sales and department in assigned tasks including research and projects
  • Create and implement strategies to prospect, develop, and grow ticket sales opportunities and ideas
  • Work with Ticket Sales department in implementation of marketing plans designed to reach particular groups and demographics
  • General office duties

SUMMARY

DURATION: Entirety of 2016-17 season including pre-season and playoffs

This is primarily a technical position that assists in the updating and creation of  pages on Lakers.com and other Lakers digital properties. This includes coding using various CMS, free-coding HTML and CSS, responsive site design, design of website graphics, editing photos, design of pages and site sections.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in site updates (headlines, calendar, sponsorship, tickets, promotions, polls, news, photos, videos, etc.) including removal of expired content.
• Work closely with other departments to make changes and additions to secondary pages (dancers, community, tickets, etc.).
• Work with images and graphics for use on the website.
• Create and code special event web pages (All-Star, Draft, Summer League, Playoffs, etc.).
• Moderate and manage the Lakers fan engagement tools
• Assist in working with NBA’s Interactive Services team on site troubleshooting, maintenance and/or enhancements.
• Quality assurance testing for content and features across platforms.

Essential requirements:

• Willing to work nights and weekends and all Lakers games, home and away, in addition to hours in office during normal business hours.
• Must be receiving college credit for this internship to be considered. (students are required to provide documentation of receiving academic credit for the internship experience)
• Good oral and written communication skills

Intern, Promotions and Game Presentation - Memphis Grizzlies (Memphis, TN)

Position Purpose 

The Promotions and Game Presentation Intern is responsible for assisting with the coordination of Memphis Grizzlies Marketing and Promotions programs and initiatives; playing an active role in building awareness and excitement for the Memphis Grizzlies.  The Intern will assist in the development and implementation of all media promotions in support of Memphis Grizzlies ticket sales and marketing.  Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the development and management of all Grizzlies games and events with a goal of creating a unique, entertaining and fan-friendly event experience.      

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Promotions

  • Assist in the development of promotions with media partners that provide the Grizzlies with added media value/exposure to create excitement around the selected games/events, ultimately increasing the profile and positive association of the Grizzlies brand. 
  • Assist in implementing all necessary details before, during and after media promotion (i.e.: coordinate prizing, game night/event elements, contest rules and regulations, winner redemption, poster put-up and take-down, volunteer recruitment and coordination and other elements as required).
  • Assist in the development of media packages for on-air ticket giveaways in support of ticket sales for specific games and/or non-Grizzlies events.
  • Compile, enter, and organize data for contest participant registration.
  • Receive and reply to internal and external promotional inquiries on grizzlies.com
  • Fulfil collateral requests
  • Maintain Memphis Grizzlies collateral libraries

  • Serves as a member of the Grizzlies Game Night Staff for all Grizzlies home games.
  • Serves as assistant for mascot appearances and game duties as management sees fit.
  • Assists Event Presentation Manager and arena staff to ensure all game night needs are met, including back of house room allocation and set-up, scoreboard operations, premium distribution, etc.

Special Events

  • Assist in the operations of all seasonal Grizzlies out-of-arena events including but not limited to Martin Luther King Day, Season Ticket Holder Party, Grizz Gala, Tip-Off Luncheon, Open Practice, etc.

Coordinate and assist in setup of items for HEAT Family Festival Silent Auction.Assist with reviewing of HEAT Scholarships, based on the requirements in each student’s application and quality of their essay. Logging attendance for all HEAT School to Work site visits.Duties also include general office duties such as: data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing, and maintaining mailing lists and donation requests. Position Summary:

The Intern, Corporate Hospitality & Events will be an ambitious individual looking to further their career in the events industry. Key Responsibilities:
