Fall 2015 Group Sales Internship - Charlotte Hornets (Charlotte, NC)

POSITION OVERVIEW
This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior, Senior or graduate level student.
The intern will need to be in the office approximately 30-40 hours a week and will need to attend Hornets home games.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the group event coordinators with the servicing and sale of any group tickets, birthday party packages, programs and promotional ticket packages to a Hornets or Arena event.
• Assist with the planning and execution of group events
• Work closely with the Manager of Group Sales to produce group programs and timelines.
• Conduct research for the Group Event Coordinators on specific programs.
• Assist the group sales department on game days and weekends.
• Assist the group sales department with large mailings
• Perform administrative tasks on a daily basis.
• Sort complimentary vouchers to determine if leads can be generated.
• Assist with researching information for direct mail campaigns.
• Intern will be responsible for data entry and manipulation of sales leads in our internal database.
• Occasionally run off-site errands
• Assist the group sales department with Arena events/programs

POSITION OVERVIEW
The marketing department is responsible for all brand building efforts. This entails developing key fan insights and translating insights into breakthrough fan engagement efforts. These efforts may be through traditional media, new media, events, partnerships, etc. The marketing intern will gain valuable training from the members of the marketing team on how to most effectively build a brand and how to effectively research a specific business challenge, develop winning strategies to address the business challenge, and qualify the proposed solutions with Hornets Fans. Unpaid internship working 20-40 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the interdepartmental implementation of marketing strategies, promotions and campaigns
• Coordinate delivery of advertising collateral to media partners
• Understand and utilize web-based analytics tools for regular production and analysis of performance marketing program reports
• Aid in the development of reporting requirements to determine ROI and overall effectiveness of campaigns

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department is seeking highly motivated, energetic and outgoing interns with a strong desire for community outreach. The intern will assist in the implementation and progression of community outreach programs in the areas of education, wellness, military and the fihgt against hunger.   • Contribute to the development and coordination of community events & programs including, but not limited to NBA Cares, player programs and partnership activations

  • Identify marketing and promotional opportunities to increase brand awareness of community programs

  • Manage department storage closet and monitor merchandise inventory daily

Chicago Sky Ticket Sales Internship

 

The Chicago Sky is seeking excited, outgoing, and dedicated candidates that will interact with the general public while being an integral part of ongoing ticket sales efforts. The sales intern will be a vital part of assisting the Sky sales team in all aspects of selling, fulfilling and executing sales initiatives. This internship will run mid-August thru December 2015.

Digital Archives Seasonal Intern - Phoenix Suns (Phoenix, AZ)

Job Purpose

The Phoenix Suns Digital Archives Internship is an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the professional sports industry. The main goal is to help digitize over 40 years of Phoenix Suns history.  Intern will work with the Phoenix Suns Digital Archivist and drive the updating, organizing and keywording of assets.

Candidates must be available to work 20 office hours per week. Interns will be compensated $9/hour and business casual attire is required. The internship is expected to last 3 months (approximately from August 2015-October 2015).

Primary (Essential) Duties 
•    Digitization of photos, slides, articles, box scores & other archive items
•    Operating a scanner 
•    Organizing archives, both physical and digital
•    Uploading images and scanned documents into our digital asset management (DAM) software
•    Tagging photos

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

•    Have knowledge of NBA and  Phoenix Suns history (strongly preferred)
•    Proficient in basic computer skills
•    Be self-motivated

Experience/Education Requirements

  • Assist and support the Guest Services department with Service and Retention initiatives including special events, welcome packets and season ticket member benefit fulfillment for the upcoming season. This may include, but is not limited to:

Partnership Intern 

Tulsa Pro Hoops, host organization of the WNBA's Tulsa Shock, is currently recruiting Partnership Department interns, known as Partnership Interns, for the upcoming 2015 Fall semester. This internship offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of experienced staff members in a fast-paced, challenging environment. We are looking for hard-working, organized, dedicated individuals with a team player attitude and the desire to proactively take on responsibility throughout the fall semester. 

Internship Information

The internship takes place in the Tulsa Shock office located in downtown Tulsa. Partnership Interns support various staff members in areas related to partnership partners, events and creative sales planning, and marketing. These interns support the partnership coordinator with partnership sales coordination, prospect research, keeping and updating prospecting lists, working on in-arena activations and set up, inventory tracking, website partnership promotion updates, photography and preparing partnership recap summaries.

Additionally, the fall semester internship includes but not limited to:

Customer Service – Interns interact with current partners, prospective customers, and sales staff by phone and in person. Excellent telephone communication skills are required. Interns are required to fulfill partnership activations and promotions during the season. At no time during the internship are interns expected to solicit sponsorship sales.

Intern Projects – Interns work on various team projects 15– 40 hours per week. Projects include corporate research, creating and maintaining corporate partner photo libraries, activation fulfillment set-up, set-up of partnership functions and needs at BOK Center, and other community activities during the fall. Also, interns will be taught how to create and assist with corporate sponsorship PowerPoint proposals.

This is a part-time (15-40 hours per week) unpaid internship for college credit. Fall internships begin August 2015 and end December 2015. Interns are required to live in the Tulsa area for the duration of the internship or able to commute to the Tulsa office in a timely manner. Current college students in their freshman to senior years and recent college graduates may apply. Current college students chosen for the internship program may use the internship to receive college credit hours, if the college allows.

Characteristics of Ideal Candidates
Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects, able to prioritize their time and be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment. Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and strong organizational skills are a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills are important due to the significant number of phone calls and questions interns are required to handle. Knowledge about the game of basketball is not required.
