Chicago Sky Community Relations Game Day Internship - Chicago Sky (Rosemont, IL)

Community Relations & Operations Game Day Interns will work all remaining Chicago Sky home games and assist with implementation of all game day activities at Allstate Arena.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: set-up/tear down of concourse, 50/50 raffle, supervising mascot, pre-game/post-game events, and on court promotions. Remaining games include August 26th, September 2nd, September 4th, September 13th, September 16th & playoff games if applicable.

Interns may be asked to help work other community events if available throughout the remainder of the fall.

Intern, Partnership Marketing - Memphis Grizzlies (Memphis, TN)

Position Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide weekly and game day assistance to the Partnership Marketing department in all areas including, but not limited to, partner activation, partner hospitality, and day-to-day business operations. The partnership marketing intern will assist with day to day contract fulfillment and partner activation responsibilities. Duties including but not limited to executing partner promotions, meeting preparation, proof of performances, event planning, tracking of partner activations, collecting/reporting data and researching industry best practices.

The internship will last from September 19th, 2016 to June 30, 2017. The Intern should expect to work 40 hours per week, this includes time for game night responsibilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Help support daily tasks of Partnership Marketing department.
  • Fulfill partnership activations and promotions during the season.
  • Assist with execution of game day sponsor activations (including but not limited to in-arena promotions, hospitality events, distribution of prizes, vehicle displays, set-up and tear down of sponsor displays, etc.)
  • Assist with partnership events in-arena and in the community.
  • Manage partnership assets and photo database.
  • Manage game day photo requests and work with team photographer on recap needs.
  • Coordinate Partnership Marketing hospitality and event logistics.
  • Support activation staff with client requests.
  • Assist with partnership ROI and measurement
  • Assist with recap information illustrating key components and successes of each client program including overview, program highlights, social media post and photos.
  • Work all home games in addition to office hours
  • Various other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

 Essential:

  • An interest in gaining experience in corporate sponsorship and partnership activation.
  • Recently completed a bachelor’s or currently pursuing a graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Sports Management, Marketing or similar discipline.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with members of the Partnership Marketing department, as well as with vendors and other arena and team personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills and resourcefulness.

Position Purpose

The Intern is responsible for the operation and execution of miscellaneous duties for all events and functions and office duties that may be assigned.  This position will assist the Vice President, Arena Operations and the Director of Guest Services in the coordination of facility management and the front of house management of all events at FedExForum.  The Intern will work with all departments within the Arena Operations department to help in the execution of events and develop their understanding and skills as a successful Arena Manager.

Must be enrolled in a college or university. (Part-time position for the duration of the 2016-17 basketball season)

The Oklahoma City Thunder is currently seeking intern candidates for the position of Performance Science Intern.  This internship position is based within the Thunder Medical and Performance Department and will assist in all aspects of the Performance Science program along with coordinating related initiatives with the Oklahoma City Blue team. The successful applicant will also be required to complete a major internship project, related to the work completed throughout the duration of the internship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of player load monitoring strategies and readiness assessments
  • Coordinate Performance Science program for the Oklahoma City Blue
  • Assist Athletic Performance coaches in implementation of strength and conditioning programming
  • Assist on research projects being conducted within the Performance Science Department
  • Conceptualize, develop and conduct major internship project, related to work completed within the Performance Science department
  • Carry out other administrative tasks consistent with the policies and procedures of the NBA, NBA D-League, Oklahoma City Thunder and Oklahoma City Blue
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related area
  • Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS – NSCA) accreditation
  • Experience programming and coaching resistance training
  • Experience in a team sport setting preferred
  • Demonstrated skills with basic data analytics software (e.g. Microsoft excel)
  • Understanding of basic statistical methods used in sports science
  • Demonstrates high standards of confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on detailed outcomes
  • Legal status to work in the United States
  • Availability for the duration of the 2016-17 NBA season

This paid internship is a part-time position beginning in late September, 2016 and reporting to the Performance Scientist.

Position Overview: Assist the Washington Wizards Sales & Service staff in planning for gamedays by assisting in the sales process. This is a paid internship.

Responsibilities:

Event Staffing:

  • Complete responsibilities at Washington Wizards events– Ex. Staff sales tables, promotional fulfillment, service & prospecting events, etc.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Windy City Bulls are the NBA D-League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls and will begin its inaugural season at Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, IL in November, 2016.

This seasonal position will work an average of 20 hours per week from October 2016 through March 2017. The position is responsible for supporting the Business Operations & Merchandising Staff throughout the 24-game season.

The position will report to the Business Operations Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the business operations staff with the successful execution of all aspects of the department’s objectives and goals.
  • Assist in the management and execution of the organization’s merchandise business, including:
    • Set-up and management of the team’s merchandise point-of-sale locations on game dates.
    • Online shop order fulfillment
    • Management of game day merchandise staff
