Here’s your chance to experience a bold and dynamic organization first hand.  The Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club will be looking for passionate team players to participate in our Fall 2016 Internship Program.  The program is designed to give top candidates real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry, in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities.  Educational components include interactive workshops, executive speaker series and job shadow opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • Complete various reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Research and organization market trends for prospecting opportunities
  • Assist other ticket sales department with projects as they arise
  • Assists on game night responsibilities for revenue generating or retention events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The fall semester Internship Program will run from September through December 2016 (15 weeks)

SECURITY INTERN (FALL 2016) - Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club (Atlanta, GA)

  • Learn and apply the security policies and procedures of NBA and Philips Arena
  • Attend security meetings for arena and other area venues
  • Assist with lost-and-found inquiries and managing lost-and-found inventory
  • Perform research to assist with establishing event-specific security protocols
  • Monitor & assist with analyzing Security Operations Control Center data during events
  • Review security incident reports and police reports and input in system
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks i.e. copies, filing, etc.

REVENUE OPERATIONS INTERN (FALL 2016) - Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club (Atlanta, GA)

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 

  • Assistance with development of Signature Events (typically 2 per semester), which includes attendance by the team and coaching staff. Responsibilities will include production outlines, run of show, coordination with vendors, set-up, invites and RSVP lists, and other objectives as necessary
  • Management of tasks associated with the planning and implementation of all other revenue-generating events for Season Ticket Membership, Suites, and Corporate Partnerships; on average there is at least one event per week
  • Maintenance of a weekly/by event Revenue Tracker and Recap for the Revenue Leadership team and CRO
  • Delivery of Weekly Event and Operational Updates, which includes percentage to goal and updated event and strategic revenue-generating opportunities
  • Opportunities to integrate into operationally-focused ideation sessions to generate and develop goals, objectives, and strategies relating to the revenue function of our business

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The fall semester Internship Program will run from September through December 2016 (15 weeks)

  • Assist Event Operations in organization, planning and onsite execution for events at Philips Arena meetings, concerts, HAWKS basketball games and more
  • Assist with set-up, breakdown and event conversion operations including floor chair setup & breakdown, bowl seating condition, HAWKS basketball scoring table equipment and concourse setup needs
  • Day to day involvement & assistance on concert event, game and dark days department wide with Maintenance, Electrical, HVAC, Conversion and Event Operations ranging from broken seats, power connection, event outlines, space setups and more
  • Work on assigned special projects that aids Building & Event Operations Department and Atlanta HAWKS Basketball Club overall

  • Sales Cycle Liaison. Includes prospecting, initial outreach, pitching, proposal building and contract writing.
    •  Guaranteed opportunities to attended in-person sales pitch with VP of Marketing Partnerships & Senior Account Executive (as well listen in on various phone call pitches)
  • Support all elements of activation including: in-arena (Signage, On-Court Promotions, Concourse Table, Media Room maintence, etc), Social media (messaging & scheduling), emails, and event support (event execution and pre-event marketing). Will report to Partnership Activation Coordinator.
    • Assist with re-cap information illustrating key components and successes of each partnership contact including overview, program highlights, and photos; maintain sponsor photo/element libraries
  • Work at all Chicago Sky home games assisting in set up, breakdown and the execution of all sponsor promotions
  • Interface with current and prospective Sky fans at community events and festivals.
  • Assist in measuring the success of marketing elements through marketing analytics (number of impressions & utilize Scarborough research)
  • Internship Project: Pitch a potential marquee partnership to Sky Staff. To include outlines, research, creating a marketing deck and an in person pitch.
