Postion Overview

The Charlotte Hornets seek an energetic individual to support members of the Basketball Operations staff with all basketball operations related tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsbilities

  • Assist with database management
  • Assist with preparations for the NBA Draft and free agency.

Summer 2017 Membership Services Intern - Charlotte Hornets (Charlotte, NC)

POSITION OVERVIEW

This is a non-paid internship and is requiring the individual to receive academic credit. The candidate should be, but not limited to, a Junior, Senior or graduate level student.

This internship requires a commitment to assist staff during Hornets games and be able to be in the office 20-40 hours a week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for working at all Hornets home games, staffing the Hornets Arena Will Call, Guaranteed Giveaways table, Guest Service Windows, and/or Season Ticket Holder booth on the concourse as needs dictate
  • Perform and review surveys of season ticket holders.
  • Work with Game Operations and all other game staffs with the execution of improvements to the game day experience for all Premium Seat Holders.
  • Proactively communicate in person and via other communication methods with premium seat holders to gauge satisfaction levels, and to inform them of upcoming season ticket holder exclusive events.
  • Help to plan, organize and execute season ticket holder events including, but not limited to first year orientation and open practices.
  • Interact with employees and customers to assist in the resolution of problems and concerns voiced by season ticket holders.
  • Organize and distribute season ticket holder gifts, birthday cards, etc.
  • Assist with research and tracking efforts to determine Season Ticket Holders concerns and interest.
  • Contribute to the day to the day to operations of the membership service department in preparation of daily objectives, game day duties, and the renewal campaign.  
  • Manage the client services hotline to assist Swarm Members and Individual Game Buyers who are experiencing issues with their online account manager by using Archtics and CRM database system
  • Take inbound and make outbound calls to customers who need assistance
  • Input information collected from Swarm Members from face-to-face interactions and phone calls into the CRM database to manage and record touch point opportunities
  • Assist in projects related to overcoming renewal objections during role play training sessions
  • Setup and create Swarm365 summer member events
  • Research local businesses in an attempt to host Member Events
  • Secure location, date, and cost for each event

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Membership Services and Vice President of Sales and Services.

Position Overview

The Finance Department at Hornets Sports and Entertainment has seven members. The department is responsible for the accounting and finance functions of a holding company which includes, among other legal and accounting entities, a National Basketball Team and Spectrum Center. The Charlotte Hornets are looking for a Graphic Design intern. This is a print design environment. This internship will allow you to gain knowledge of printing and graphics. This internship offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of experienced staff members in a dynamic, challenging environment. We would like a hard-working, organized, dedicated individual with a team player attitude. This internship is unpaid and we require that college credit is obtained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing programs, flyers, autograph cards, ads, etc., as well as assisting with larger projects
  • Assisting with social media and website design
  • Assisting in production areas as needed to learn more about proper file setup and printing
  • Helping in print/bindery department if necessary
  • Working with all departments, including Ticket Sales, Corporate Sales, Marketing, Public Relations and Community Relations
  • Assisting the Creative Services Department in crafting sales and promotional materials such as guides, calendar programs, invitations, postcards, brochures, flyers, signage, and advertisements.

Spectrum Center, home of the Charlotte Hornets, is seeking an upbeat individual to support members of the Basketball Operations staff with daily team operations and logistics. The Texas Legends NBA D-League in Frisco, TX is currently seeking candidates for the Game-day Operations Internship Program.
