Community Relations Associate (50/50 Raffle Program) - Chicago Bulls (Chicago, IL)


DESCRIPTION:
The Chicago Bulls are seeking a highly motivated, organized and dedicated person to fill the position of Community Relations Associate. As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to take charge of the 50/50 raffle program as well as support the broader department at a number of events throughout the 2017-18 season. We are seeking someone who is both passionate about service and an emerging leader who is organized and able to run our 50/50 program on game nights.

This position is seasonal and will start in September 2017 and continue through the end of the season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling the following Community Relations Department activities:

  • Hiring and managing all 50/50 staff for each game
  • Scheduling and production of payroll for all nightly sellers
  • Responsible for all of the marketing and public relations’ aspects of the program
  • Implementing training guidelines
  • Leading game-night operations such as assigning workers to “positions”/work stations, monitoring progress of raffle, troubleshooting, counting raffle money, reporting of winning number and amount to Game Operations
  • Provide timely monthly and year-end report on 50/50 Raffle performance and best-practices.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are also various department activities you are responsible for that provide support for Community Relations Department on a day-to-day basis, as needed. These generally include:

  • Assist and attend Chicago Bulls Community Outreach Initiatives both at the United Center and around the local community
  • Provide support of Chicago Bulls Charities activities
  • Help facilitate autograph sessions with players
  • Assist Community Relations Assistant with in-kind donation fulfillment

We will also ask that you plan and execute one (1) Chicago Bulls Community Relations event as part of your growth and learning in this role.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Marketing Associate (Seasonal) - Chicago Bulls (Chicago, IL)

The Chicago Bulls are looking for a Seasonal Marketing Associate to join our Marketing team. As a Marketing Associate, your primary responsibility is to execute marketing initiatives and provide daily backing to the marketing management team. The Marketing team focuses primarily on larger organization-wide initiatives including the marketing campaign, integration of the brand purpose, grassroots efforts, sponsorships, league initiatives and advertising.

The Marketing Seasonal Associate will report directly into the Marketing Manager and support the Coordinator in all efforts. This position is scheduled to start in September 2017 and continue through the end of the season.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hands-on involvement in a variety of team marketing initiatives; ability to develop and follow timelines, schedule and recap production meetings, request and implement creative and promotional elements.
  • Lead the development of broadcast drops and requests. Develops content calendar and drop requests for department leads.
  • Tracks results on all advertising.
  • Develop and build deck materials and aid in research projects.
  • Support activation of Chicago Bulls Bar Network; works closely with Game Entertainment and Corporate Partnerships to maximize allotted budget, supply branded elements and activate promotional plan.
  • Facilitate data collection efforts for grassroots fan programming and youth memberships.
  • Support Youth Engagement Manager in the fulfillment and programming for membership platform.
  • Support Retail Marketing Manager on special events and asset deliverables for in-game and digital promotions.
  • Responsible for ordering and managing inventory of event giveaways, signage, collateral and fulfillment of all contest prizing.
  • Assist with coordination and activation of grassroots events including Road Watch Parties, Fan Fests and off-season outreach.

SKILL SET:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Marketing or Business preferred, but all majors will be considered given a sincere interest and previous experience in marketing related roles
  • Previous internship experience in a relevant field strongly preferred
  • Meticulous attention to detail, including excellent copy editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize, adapt as necessary, and update, track and manage workflow, with consistent demonstrated ability to get the job done well while meeting goals and deadlines

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Chicago Bulls Game Entertainment team is seeking an Entertainment Associate for the 2017-2018 season. We are looking for someone who is creative, dedicated, and passionate about gaining firsthand game entertainment experience. In this role, you will be given the unique opportunity to assist with game programming, team event productions, and day-to-day operations to effectively build an engaging fan experience both on and off the court. Our team is committed to building a fan experience that is fun and entertaining, utilizing current pop culture trends and innovative production technology to help us leverage the game situation and create the ultimate home-court advantage for our basketball team.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Entertainment Associate, you will be part of a dynamic, dedicated, and fun team. You can expect to assist the team's efforts that are both in line with the Bulls brand strategy and positively represents the City of Chicago. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist in preparation of entertainment and sponsored elements for all Chicago Bulls home games.
  • Serve as a stage manager and production associate at all home games including set-up and execution of game-breaks (activities, contests, entertainment groups, promotions, etc.).
  • Prepare contest materials (flyers, affidavits, waivers, prizes) for distribution and help keep inventory of contest prizes.
  • Prepare and organize scripts for department and game hosts prior to each game production meeting.
  • Complete day-of-game entertainment credentials and locker room assignments.
  • Assist in execution of video shoots (Media Day, Mascot video routines, All-Star Balloting video elements, etc.).
  • Assist in planning and coordinating game presentation (neutral-site games, college tournaments, video elements, in-game elements, movie clips, music, etc.).
  • Assist in maintaining season long game programming schedule.
  • Assist in implementation of pregame activities on court (pregame group events, sound-checks, rehearsals, special ceremonies, Opening Night, Fan Scrimmage, etc.) or on concourse.
  • Assist with tryouts for various performance groups (Luvabulls, IncrediBulls, BullsKidz, Swingin’ Seniors, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships team to make recommendations regarding development, production, and implementation of game-related programming to improve entertainment value for both our fans and the sponsors’ business objective.
  • Assist research new entertainment acts, props and contests.
  • Assist in the execution of team-related events (e.g. Bulls Road Watch Parties, Corporate Partnership events, Community Relations events, etc.).
  • Assist with Windy City Bulls events and specific games.
  • Prepare end-of-season project and present to the team upon completion of the season.

QUALIFICATIONS:
You are a potential fit for this role if you have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in sports, entertainment or events related field
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop and basic video editing skills a plus
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to articulate ideas both within the team and with other partners.
  • Knowledge of sports, game presentation, and basketball a plus

Community Relations & Operations FALL Internship - Chicago Sky (Skokie, IL)

The Community Relations & Operations Interns will gain hands-on experience through planning and implementing community events / activities, membership events and grassroots marketing activities with a goal of driving trial and lead generation.  

Interns will also work all Sky home games and assist with implementation of game operations and community activities in-arena.  Interns will also assist with day to day operation of the team retail function, community donation program, Sky Cares silent auctions and may also participate in the team's 50/50 Charitable fundraising on game days. 

Interns will assist with planning and executing events such as Sky Cares Golf Outing, Sky Cares Fundraising Bowling event, Sky Cares Fitness Festival, execution of Sky Legacy Partner and Sky Partner activations and promotions as well as other tasks as required.

Chicago Sky Video Production Fall Internship - Chicago Sky (Chicago, IL)

The Video Production Intern will work within the creative service department to implement the vision of the Sky through video content. This individual will work directly with the video production coordinator to provide a full-range of video, audio and editing support from concept to post-production.

Interns can expect to gain hands on experience with video camcorders and DSLR cameras during games and player appearances, master lighting for various shoots including green screen and formal interviews, while also continuing to improve video editing skills. Please note that this internship will begin in Skokie and move to Chicago.   

The Video Intern will have the following responsibilities:

?      Produce video content in support of branding, sales, marketing and promotions

?      Edit digital video from raw files to finished work using Adobe Premiere

?      Assist with lighting sets and scripting for green screen shoots

?      Capture b-roll and interviews at Sky events to produce feature stories

?      Distribute video via Internet through Sky website and social media outlets

Chicago Sky Fall Charity Tickets Internship - Chicago Sky (Skokie, IL)

The Chicago Sky is seeking an excited, outgoing, and dedicated candidate that will interact with the general public while being an integral part of ongoing community and ticket sales efforts. The charity ticket intern will be a vital part of assisting the Operations and Charity Ticket Coordinator in all aspects of charity tickets, fundraising, and other community initiatives. Chicago Sky Sponsorship Activation Internship - Chicago Sky WNBA (Rosemont, IL)

Marketing Partnerships Game day Interns will work the remaining Chicago Sky home games and assist with implementation of sponsorship activities at Allstate Arena.  Interns will assist in game day operations that include pregame preparations, executing various game day events, driving traffic to sponsorship activities, taking pictures for documentation of sponsorship execution, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, postgame take down and other activities upon request. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Corporate Partnerships Intern, you will be part of a dynamic and fun team and you can expect to assist and support the team with sales and activation efforts.

  • Assist with successful execution of all aspects included in each partnership agreement.
  • Assist in the organization of all partnership inventory management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Business Operations Intern, you will be part of a dynamic team and can expect to assist the staff in all aspects, including:

  • Set-up and coordinate merchandise point-of-sale locations on game dates.
  • Manage game day merchandise staff.
  • Identify opportunities and give ideas to promote awareness.
  • Handle inventory, and placement of re-orders to maintain inventory at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure all merchandise is presented in a professional manner on the online store.
  • Code and book vendor invoices.

Community Relations & Operations Internship - (FALL) GAME DAY ONLY - WNBA Chicago Sky (Rosemont, IL)

Community Relations & Operations Game Day Interns will work all Chicago Sky home games and assist with implementation of all game day activities at Allstate Arena.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: set-up/tear down of concourse, 50/50 raffle, supervising mascot, pre-game/post-game events, and on court promotions.

Interns may be asked to help work other community events if available throughout the season.

Criteria & Qualifications:

·         Outgoing and enthusiastic, not afraid to approach the public

·         Able to deal with internal and external clients in a professional manner

·         Highly motivated; demonstrates initiative and independent problem solving
