Community Relations & Operations Internship - GAME DAY ONLY - Chicago Sky (Rosemont, IL)

Community Relations & Operations Game Day Interns will work all Chicago Sky  2017 home games and assist with implementation of all game day activities at Allstate Arena.  Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: set-up/tear down of concourse, 50/50 raffle, supervising mascot, pre-game/post-game events, and on court promotions.

Interns may be asked to help work other community events if available throughout the season.

Criteria & Qualifications:

This is primarily a technical position that assists in the updating and creation of  pages on Lakers.com and other Lakers digital properties and also SouthBayLakers.com. This includes coding using various CMS, free-coding HTML and CSS, responsive site design, design of website graphics, editing photos, design of pages and site sections.


RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in site updates for Lakers and South Bay Lakers (headlines, calendar, sponsorship, tickets, promotions, polls, news, photos, videos, etc.) including removal of expired content.
• Work closely with other departments to make changes and additions to secondary pages (dancers, community, tickets, etc.).
• Work with images and graphics for use on the website.

JOB DESCRIPTION:  This is an opportunity to work in the fast-paced world of WNBA public relations and communications with the Los Angeles Sparks.  Interns will work directly with the Director of Public Relations & Communications and Public Relations & Communications Coordinator. This department is responsible for all initiatives and opportunities as it relates to media relations, public relations, player appearances, social and digital media and engagement and external communications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00PM. In addition to working office hours staff are required to work Sparks’ home games and external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. Position Purpose

The Intern is responsible for the operation and execution of miscellaneous duties for all events and functions.  This position will help coordinate, and ultimately manage assigned needs and requirements for all events at FedExForum, as well as events in the community.  The Intern will work with all departments within the Arena Operations department to help in the execution of events and develop their understanding and skills as a successful Arena Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support within the Arena Operations Department for day-to-day operations and all event productions
  • Develop and create event documents to communicate with all arena departments regarding event operational needs and requirements

Summer Internship Program Summary

Timeframe: June 2017 - August 2017. (40 hours a week)

Wage: $10.50/hour, No relocation or housing expenses provided.

QualificationsMUST be enrolled in a College or University or a recent graduate (within 6 months) to be considered.          

Summary:

The primary focus of this internship is to support and assist in the financial operations of our organization. The Accounting Intern will assist with accounting projects, data entry, processing payables, coding expenses, annual financial audit preparation and preparing financial reports, as well as any other tasks that contribute to the efficiencies of our business.

Qualifications:
• Current college students enrolled in a four-year college program. Must be in a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student, preferably majoring in Accounting or Sports Management, or related field.
• Previous work experience in accounting is preferred
• Basic accounting knowledge. Understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, adjusting entries
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• If hired, must be able to present evidence of U.S. citizenship or proof of your legal right to live and work in the United States.

Summary:  The Sacramento Kings Foundation Intern will serve as an integral part of the Community Impact team; and will be responsible for supporting the Community Team.  Assists in supporting the Sacramento Kings Foundation to #dogood throughout the Sacramento region.  Assists in coordinating the response to specific donation requests, creating WOW moments for fans, and assists with SKF events. Will perform all other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Sacramento Kings Foundation Intern will support the Foundation in creating #dogood moments and planning for the 2017-18 season.

  • Communications (responding to specific requests, maintaining donations database, providing weekly updates and recommendations).

  • Creating WOW moments for fans.  Scouring over social media communications, talking with Kings Team Members that interact with fans and their families to seek out the best opportunities for WOW moments. 

  • Planning for the 2017-18 season; specifically to support the programs and activities of the Sacramento Kings Foundation; preparing for meetings of the Board of Directors; supporting Foundation events; planning for revenue generating opportunities.

  • Planning for the 2017-18 season; game night themes, community group integration, concourse programming and other activities.

The Community Impact Intern will assist the CI team in organization

  • You’ll support community events, including set up and break down of events. 

  • You’ll support storage inventory and organization; maintaining the database of CI inventory.
