Is the professional sports & entertainment industry in your future career path? Here’s your chance to experience it first hand while interning at a dynamic organization. The Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and world-class entertainment venue, Philips Arena, are looking for passionate team players to participate in our Fall 2014 Course Credit Internship Program. This program is designed to give top students real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities. Educational components include interactive workshops, executive speaker series and job shadow opportunities.
PROGRAM GUIDELINES:
• We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2014 term (September-December)
• Course Credit Internships are open to college students only (junior, senior or graduate level)
• Interns must receive academic credit toward graduation – no exceptions (students are responsible for providing documentation confirming academic credit for the internship)
• No financial compensation is available
• Interns are responsible for travel and housing arrangements
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
• Minimum of 12 weeks participation is required
• Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (minimum of 20 hours per week required for part-time)
• Interns must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7

Execute the fulfillment of our Atlanta Hawks 3.0 Student Club
Assist with back-end execution of PA Insider - our corporate ticket program that serves over 1000 companies
Participate in the planning and execution of various game day events
Assist Account Executives at sales events with prospecting for new business and overall sales
Develop and promote a group theme night for the 2014-2015 season under the direction of the Manager of Group Sales
Research trends around the NBA and other professional sports leagues
Assist with the management and growth of the group sales database

Support marketing and promotion efforts for Flight Crew and Basketball Development through various internal and external avenues, including website, print and e-newsletter design

 POSITION OVERVIEW
This individual will work in the video room, help and aid coaches in specialty projects and stats needed during season, use Sportstec & Synergy to edit and log NBA/ College games, work on end of game situations, diagram plays, and help with practice and rebounding for players. The candidate will have to be in the office between 20-40 hours a week. This is an unpaid position and requires the individual to receive academic credit. The intern will also have to attend some Hornets basketball games. This person will work with the Video Department throughout the entire season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist staff with video room responsibilities
• Assist with computer logging and editing game/practice film (NBA and College)
• Learn Diagramming software to help diagram plays when needed
• Record NBA, College, and European games
• Assist in filming team practices and scrimmages

As a valuable member of the Delaware 87ers Fall or Spring Intern class, you will gain an overall awareness of all company departments. Selected students will be responsible for projects in all departments including but not limited to Sales, Game Operations, Sponsorship, Office Management, Public Relations, Community Relations and Marketing. Each student will rotate departments for the first few weeks of the internship and then can choose a specialty or an interest in a certain department to focus on a specific area of interest for the final weeks of the program. Sales call will be required on certain days and all students must be earning college credit.

In addition, all students must be available for all home games and will work a variety of game-day operational roles. Interns will be trained in setup and breakdown of all operational sides of game management and be responsible for specific departments and functions on game nights in roles that demand a high level of fan interaction. Start and end dates are flexible and the program can be adapted to individual school needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: OFFICE
- Assisting the sales and service staff with any game day preparation, post-game follow-up tasks, proposal presentations, prospective client research, season recaps, mailings and any other projects and fulfilling them in a timely manner
- Communicating internally with CP staff and all departments within the organization, and externally with sponsors, sweepstakes/promotion winners, vendors, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES: GAME DAY
- Managing departmental correspondence for sponsor parking, signage and photo requests, and responsible for sending these lists to the proper parties for fulfillment
- Facilitating and assisting with all game day tasks, including but not limited to: preparing and ensuring promotion materials, collateral and prizes are in place; assisting with contestant sign-ups, sponsor boothing, receptions & hospitality and post-game Laker Girl/player appearances; and facilitating sponsor promotions and contests
- Monitor and work with production and game operations to ensure that all sponsor signage and promotions are running accurately per the game script
- Assist with coordination and execution at special sponsor events, player appearances and Lakers Youth Foundation fundraisers throughout the season

Job Description:

Monumental Sports and Entertainment (MSE) has a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Digital Marketing Internship available. The CRM and Digital Marketing Intern will work closely with the CRM and Analytics group to provide support to all initiatives regarding Salesforce.com (SFDC), Ticketmaster Archtics, and Oracle Eloqua. These platforms track and execute all interaction between MSE and the customers of our sports properties (Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, and Washington Mystics), including sales calls, order processing, and mass email distribution. Our intern will learn through on-the-job experience about professional database management and data analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve service Cases from internal SFDC users, which include, but are not limited to:

                 o Merging duplicate Accounts and Contacts in SFDC and Archtics
                 o Changing Primary Contacts on SFDC Accounts, ensuring proper integration to Archtics

  • Create Reports in SFDC and build Dashboard components to display and analyze reported data
  • Build mass email communications and surveys through Eloqua and analyze interaction metrics
  • Research best practices for the administration and development of SFDC
  • Contribute to SFDC user adoption and training
  • Other duties as assigned

DESCRIPTION:
The Reno Bighorns are seeking qualified candidates to fill roles within the Bighorns Street Team. Bighorns Street Team members will represent the organization, team and its partners at various events in the Reno Tahoe area throughout the year. Bighorns Street Team members will receive commission on all ticket and partnership sales leads that they initiate. There is no hourly stipend or base salary associated with this position. Bighorns Street Team members who excel in their roles will be considered for full time employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Assist in events and promotional activities in an effort to grow the Bighorns fan base
• Engage prospective and current Bighorns fans in a professional and positive manner through various promotions, events and marketing efforts
• Increase awareness, interest and fan support for the Bighorns through the distribution of promotional materials
• Assist in generating brand awareness for the Bighorns at a variety of local events and activities
• Assist in ticket sales and sponsorship initiatives on game day at the Reno Events Center
• Provide full operational support (set-up/tear-down) of all promotional materials including tents, tables, etc.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Group Sales interns have the opportunity to see the business side of sports marketing first hand for the San Antonio Spurs. Interns have the opportunity to work directly with the San Antonio Spurs, dealing with various aspects of the day to day operation of the Team, such as marketing, community events, game nights and general office duties. Group sales interns are involved with the creative side as well, participating in brainstorming sessions and meetings where group sales ideas & events are discussed. Internships are paid positions (minimum wage), but are not guaranteed employment once the internship is completed.



Academic Requirement: Undergrad degree completed
Internship pay: $7.25 an hour
Internship length: August 2014-August 2015

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaboration with key internal/external resources and ongoing self development.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
1.Assist Group Sales department with game night and summer tournament duties. This position includes the following, but not limited to:
a.Meeting/escorting groups
b.Helping groups with set-up in their concourse performance areas
c.Helping with redemption tables (group value-add item)
d.Assistance with Fan Experience packages (FEPs)—post-game free throws, pre-game courtside experience, etc.
2. Assisting the Group Sales department (general office duties.) This position includes the following, but not limited to:
a.Data basing flyers & management of mailings and filings
b.Helping with group sales collateral for groups—vouchers, etc.
c.Assistance with in-/out-bound phone traffic related to large group programs (incorrect credit card transactions, etc.)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree.
•Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, nights and weekends, holidays as needed. (20 -30 hours/week)
•Has the ability to work efficiently and in a timely manner in order to meet strict deadlines.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent computer skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. Experience with ticketing systems is a plus.
•Dependability. Must have reliable transportation.

INTERNSHIP (Fall 2014): Marketing - Wizard Girls & Alumni Association - Washington Wizards and Washington Mystics (Washington, DC)

Monumental Sports & Entertainment owns and operates three professional sports teams: the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, and the WNBA's Washington Mystics.  Monumental, which merged Lincoln Holdings and Washington Sports & Entertainment on June 10, 2010, also owns and operates Verizon Center, the premier sports and entertainment venue in Washington, D.C. Primary Responsibilities – Marketing:
• Assist marketing department with maintaining integrity of the Wizards and Mystics brand
• Assist Dance Team Manager with Wizard Girls:

  • Updating database
  • Website content maintenance : blogs, photo galleries, videos
  • Social Media : ensure photos, posts, and tweets are consistent with Wizards and Mystics brand
  • Assist with coordination & booking of appearances and events involving Wizard Girls

• Assist Director of Marketing with Alumni Association:

  • Updating database
  • Website content maintenance : photo galleries, videos, upcoming appearances
  • Assist with bi-weekly alumni newsletter
  • Assist with coordination/logistics of appearances and events involving alumni

• Assist with creation of collateral including flyers, signage, posters for alumni and Wizard Girls events as needed
• Research opportunities for revenue growth: appearances, clinics, golf tournaments
• Provide recap of all events attended during season


Secondary Responsibilities – Game Days:
• Assist with Wizard Girls on themed game nights – concourse table, suite/seat visits, performances on-court

Essential requirements:
• Undergraduate or Graduate student in good academic standing
• Previous Marketing experience a plus, but not required
• Team player; excellent communication skills; creative
• Ability to multi-task; detail-oriented; fast learner
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Facebook, Twitter

• Research new marketing tactics and apply them to the Wizards & Mystics organization

• Create marketing plans for various grassroots initiatives; examples include: College Campuses-Study Break, youth initiatives; Theme Nights: Home Opener, Chinese New Year Night

• Provide recap of all events attended

• Other duties as assigned

  • Responding to fan mail and requests for team items
  • Aiding in player appearances and autograph session as needed
  • Helping to develop new and enhance current community programs to be implemented throughout the season
  • Learning and maintaining the office procedure for incoming mail, calls, and faxes
  • Provide game day coverage for Community Relations events such as Silent Auctions, Collection Drives, Player Sponsored, Section Nights and Autograph Sessions
  • Assisting the Community Relations staff in any other responsibilities as needed
