Chicago Sky Summer Charity Tickets Internship - Chicago Sky (Skokie, IL)

The Chicago Sky is seeking an excited, outgoing, and dedicated candidate that will interact with the general public while being an integral part of ongoing community and ticket sales efforts. The charity ticket intern will be a vital part of assisting the Operations and Charity Ticket Coordinator in all aspects of charity tickets, fundraising, and other community initiatives. This position will gain hands-on experience working with 501 © 3 non-profit organizations, youth groups, and schools/libraries. This role will also assist in facilitating grassroots marketing events in the Chicago-land community including specific mascot appearances.

Note: While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sport marketing world, it is a non-paid position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing Sky Cares Foundation’s Charity Ticket Initiatives for the 2017 Sky season
  • Create and implement strategies to prospect, develop, and grow relationships with 501©3 Non-Profit Organizations and Community Groups
  • Aid in Chicago Sky’s Reading Program initiatives with local schools and libraries
  • Develop strategies to engage and increase memberships within Sky Guy’s Kids Club

Marketing Partnerships Game day Interns will work a select number of Chicago Sky home games and assist with implementation of sponsorship activities at Allstate Arena.  Interns will assist in game day operations that include pregame preparations, executing various game day events, driving traffic to sponsorship activities, taking pictures for documentation of sponsorship execution, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, postgame take down and other activities upon request. Interns may be asked to help work additional sponsorship events, outside of games, if available throughout the summer months.

Game Day interns are required to arrive at Allstate Arena 3 and ½ hours prior to tip off. Includes up to 17 Chicago Sky Regular Season Games, Potential Playoff Games, and Sponsorship Tabling Events. Please note this position requires interns to work Nights, Weekends, and Holidays.

Description:

The Dallas Mavericks are seeking driven, creative, and energetic local college students for an Ambassador position for the 2017-18 season. This is an opportunity for someone with an outgoing personality, passion for the Mavericks and their campus, to start a career in the sports industry. The Dallas Mavericks College Ambassadors primary focus is supporting the Mavericks brand by promoting upcoming games, events, and special offers to the student population.

Students will gain valuable experience working with the front office. The goal of a Mavericks brand ambassador is to excite students in new and unique ways while increasing recognition of the Mavs College Pass program. This ambassador program is a paid position and is ONLY for currently enrolled students of sophomore or junior status for the 2017-2018 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Positively represent the Mavs brand on campus at all times. Consistently acting with professionalism and being courteous to fellow students, campus administrators, and local community leaders
  • Promote the Mavericks and College Pass on campus using the provided materials to create brand awareness of events and promotions on campus
  • Work with Mavs front office staff to develop ways to integrate a Mavericks activation into big events and/or gatherings taking place on your campus
  • Identify and build relationships with key student groups on campus that would be interested in bringing their groups and organizations to Mavericks games
  • Work with Group Sales to identify new or untapped advertising and sales opportunities on and around campus
  • Become a credible brand expert: know our team and our product offerings
  • Build brand awareness via social network sharing of relevant Dallas Mavericks content
  • Create reports every other week to send to Mavericks front office staff. Reports may include: providing a summary of your communication with sales/advertising prospects, activation recaps, general market analysis for your campus, timesheets, and suggestions for future Mavs-related sales and marketing opportunities on campus
  • Weekly time commitment will vary between 5-10 hours each week, depending on activities during the given week

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a local college or university and be classified as a sophomore or junior for the 2017-2018 school year
  • Business or Sports Management major is preferred

Work Environment

During events work is generally performed on the main court, around the concourse and bleachers/steps, as well as in an office environment.

Summary:

The primary focus of this internship is to support and assist in the financial operations of our organization. The Accounting Intern will assist with accounting projects, data entry, processing payables, coding expenses, annual financial audit preparation and preparing financial reports, as well as any other tasks that contribute to the efficiencies of our business.

Qualifications:
• Current college students enrolled in a four-year college program. Must be in a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student, preferably majoring in Accounting or Sports Management, or related field.
• Previous work experience in accounting is preferred
• Basic accounting knowledge. Understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, adjusting entries
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Job Description

• Troubleshooting end user computer problems.

Summary

This position is responsible for providing a wide range of support to the Analytics department, including reporting, CRM administration, data automation/integration, and predictive modeling. We hope that the ideal candidate will help us continue to develop best-in-class analytical capabilities across our entire business. This role will be especially critical in helping us pursue our mission to be the #1 organization in professional sports for both CRM and business analytics.

Key Responsibilities Areas:
• Create actionable insight and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, building recommendations that directly address business objectives.
• Conduct quantitative analysis to review historical sales performance and inform future sales strategy.
• Help compile data and run analyses for various reporting and analytics initiatives, both on an ongoing and ad-hoc basis.
• Assist in data warehouse efforts focused on data automation and integration between source systems.
• Utilize statistical modelling and machine learning techniques to help inform decisions made across ticket sales, marketing, and other areas of the organization.
• Assist in the day-to-day administration of CRM platform (Salesforce) including user management, data hygiene and data manipulation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• College Majors Preferred in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field.

Digital Design Intern - Seattle Storm (Seattel, WA)

What you will do:

 

  • Design graphics and layouts for both online and in-game media

  • Assist in updating StormBasketball.com, including post-game articles and video

  • Help create and deploy emails for mass marketing

  • Create marketing materials for other departments, like Sales and Partnerships

  • Help compile web analytics reports

  • Assist with department administrative functions as necessary

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

 

  • Excellent knowledge with the Adobe Suite (especially with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver), HTML, and CSS

  • Helpful, but not necessary, proficiency in WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, and JQuery a plus

  • Previous Sporting Industry experience is also a plus

  • Ability to work independently and under a deadline
