Assistant, Philips Arena Marketing & Business Development - Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena (Atlanta, GA)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Philips Arena Marketing & Business Development team with all departmental duties, including administrative tasks, marketing/promotions, media relations, research and presentations.
  • Assist Marketing & Business Development with the generation occupancy reports, communicate sales and usage needs to third parties and neighboring organizations and businesses.
    Monitor Philips Arena website and other relevant websites to ensure that all event information is posted accurately.
    Assist with the gathering and maintenance of all marketing assets for events, including TV spot, radio spot, show images/logos and posters from event producers.
  •  Assist in the submission of all invoicing for events and reconcile with external reports
  •  Update the internal and external calendars by adding all pre-sale, on sale, and show information, editing, as needed.
  • Update upcoming event posters or create posters for all non – Hawks events, as well as ensure Hawks messaging is consistent with campaign and present during all events hosted in venue.
  • Gather trade magazine reporting information and submit for approval; research comparison events
  • Maintain digital archives of media clippings and industry reports.
  • Serve as a back up and or support for Marketing Coordinator for all event coverage and social media content/trends
  • Update ticket distribution log and process of distribution for internal and external clients.
  • Maintain spreadsheet tracking other venue events around the Atlanta area
  • Update departmental reports indicating list of all events on sale with gross and tickets sold to date
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communication or a relevant field required
  • Previous marketing, media relations and/or promotions experience/internships in professional sports/entertainment industry preferred
  • Good organizational, communication and time management skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple events, create relationships and meet deadlines required
  • Must be a proactive, self-starter with proven initiative in past experiences
  •  Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include occasional nights, holidays and weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist management with safety training, planning safety improvements, record keeping, and enforcement of OSHA guidelines and Atlanta Hawks safety policy.

Conduct safety audits to identify deficiencies and unsafe practices, which need immediate correction insuring a safe working environment.

Maintain records, schedules, charts, etc., as required to ensure proper and timely preventive maintenance or repair of components, systems and structures.

Submit ideas and suggestions to Management to help plan work schedules and assignments in accordance with O&M repair requirements.

Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the facility and grounds

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, confirm, and Execute Group Sales Fan Experiences and Events including pre-event coordination with Sales Executives and clients, development of game day outlines, communication with departments involved and day of event support/troubleshooting.
  • Manage the Group Sales Fan Experience Calendar, Event Space Calendar,  and inventory
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for Group Sales and Service game day events and programs.
  • Serve as the departmental liaison for communication between Game Operations, Community Development, Marketing and the Arena for all Group related events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Business or Sport Management degree preferred

Part-Time Statistical Technical Coordinator - Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena (Atlanta, GA)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Part Time STC is responsible for assisting and supporting the NBA HSAN infrastructure for basketball games and related services for the Atlanta Hawks. The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis:

1) Demonstrated alignment with the NBA’s mission (The Game Above All).

2) Collaboration with key internal/external resources and 3) Ongoing self development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience with and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows XP & Windows 7 operating systems.
• PC hardware configurations to include the installation and troubleshooting of components.
• General knowledge in networks to include basic TCP/IP understanding, DNS and DHCP. 
• General knowledge of local and wide area networks.
• Assist with the setup of statistical equipment for production of basketball games.
• Provide support of different applications used for statistical output.
• Assist media and staff with issues connecting to wireless network.
• Provide tenant, vendor and event support as necessary and system security.
• Understanding of network data and serial cabling. 
• Work in conjunction with stats and game night crew team members to ensure facility integrity.
• Flexible scheduling, ability to work weekends and odd shifts. 
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
