Director, Ticket Sales - Erie BayHawks (Erie, PA)

The Erie BayHawks seek an experienced ticket sales professional to lead and direct all aspects of the team’s ticket sales efforts.  This is an exciting opportunity as our team enters our 10th anniversary season and welcomes the Atlanta Hawks as our new NBA affiliate.  Be part of the rapidly growing NBA Development League and interact and learn from NBA Team Marketing and Business Operations personnel.  This position reports directly to the team president and plays an integral role in the overall success of the organization.


  • Manage a three-person ticket sales staff and provide training and leadership to your direct reports
  • Oversee and implement the team’s ticket sales strategy for all season tickets and group ticket packages, with an emphasis on growing premium season memberships and group sales.
  • Oversee daily ticket sales efforts by directing sales activity, lead generation and networking opportunities with prospects
  • Sell Ticket packages including: Season Tickets, Group Tickets and Partial Plans
  • Plan and fulfill the team’s membership program with support from other sales team members
  • Manage and monitor the team’s CRM and customer/prospect database
  • Serve as the liaison to the box office and ticket system support  
  • Provide top-levels of service to your clients
  • Generate sales appointments and network within the local business area
  • Attend team and community events for the purpose of maximizing sales opportunities.
  • Implement sales promotion programs and materials as well as assist the organization in other various special events, promotions, and social/civic activities
  • Build relationships to provide repeat business and excellent customer service to assist with the renewal process
  • Set and achieve monthly and annual revenue goals
  • Compile and submit all league ticket reports and game ticket sales reports.
  • Submit reports to the team president as it pertains to all sales projections, sales rep productivity, sales pipelines, etc. 
  • Oversee and direct a successful ticket sales internship program
  • Participate in gameday operations and other team tasks as assigned

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Manage the ticket sales staff
  • Sales – Phone calls, appointments, referrals, networking
  • Service – Build relationships and deliver superior service
  • Maintain customer database (CRM software)
  • Continue education in sports industry sales


  • Two (2) plus years of sports ticket sales with a proven record of achievement and leadership
  • Ability to lead, train and manage a staff while achieving personal sales goals
  • Exceptional work ethic, eagerness to learn, professionalism, and a passion for the sports industry.
  • Competitive nature and a contagious, positive attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of computer programs.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to manage schedule to achieve daily and weekly goals for calls, appointments and sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and produce results.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service to your clients
  • College Degree
  • Work non-traditional hours, attend all home games and team events
