Player/Basketball Operations: Equipment Manager
Assistant Equipment Manager - LA Clippers (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Summary

The Assistant Equipment Manager will work closely with the Equipment Manager in performing a variety of tasks supporting the LA Clippers basketball players and operations. The Assistant Equipment Manager will provide dedicated support on a day-to-day basis from an equipment and team operations perspective. This position requires substantial hours of work to maintain a professional equipment operation for a professional sports team.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·         Assist with equipment orders including team gear, jerseys, shoes, etc.

·         Liaison for visiting referees and teams during home games.

·         Responsible for operating equipment truck.

·         Assist with all player needs behind the bench on game nights.

·         Stock and maintain team restroom toiletries and refrigerators, assuring all necessary items are present and appear neat and organized.

·         Transport equipment to and from Los Angeles airport for all team road trips.

·         Work with the Director of Performance to purchase snacks and other food supplies for the team.

·         In-take equipment shipments and organize all equipment.

·         Assist with training set up and clean up.

·         Manage daily laundry operations for team laundry.

·         Assist with packing and unpacking for road trips.

·         Be present and active in game day activities- needed for helping with warmups, managing halftime needs of players, removing unused game uniforms from lockers after halftime, cleaning out home, visitors, and referee locker rooms after games, assisting with postgame laundry, among other responsibilities.

·         Travel with the team full time. Road responsibilities include but are not limited to:

o   Bag tag upon arrival, assisting bellman with the delivery of luggage, locker room setup for games and practice, organizing, transporting and distributing all gear for practices and games.

·         Assist with opposing team for all laundry needs on the road.

·         Luggage pull with bellman upon departure of hotel.   

Characteristics / Qualifications

·         Minimum of one year of experience in a professional or collegiate equipment room.

·         Valid driver’s license.

·         Ability to complete multiple jobs at once.

·         Strong knowledge of heat pressing sports uniforms.

·         Demonstrated dedication with the ability to oversee projects from origin through execution.

·         Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic environment.

·         Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with hands-on approach towards business.

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to drive product development and bring a disciplined vision to the LA Clippers’ digital portfolio. The ideal candidate is an autonomous and highly motivated individual with leadership experience across live streaming and mobile technologies, location-based services, analytics/data architecture, and consumer applications. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to lead a product roadmap that delivers a seamless, frictionless and intuitive experience for fans and audience. They must have a working knowledge of the NBA and sports technologies.

This role is also responsible for driving innovation planning into breakthrough strategies, products and experiences for audiences that are scalable and relevant for cross-department and global activation. Business objectives include growing audience, engagement and revenue.

As a leader of Innovation at the LA Clippers, this position will also drive projects that address a variety of business opportunities, including fan and membership services, media and campaign operations, as well as fostering strategic whitespace dialogue. Candidates should be hybrid thinkers, able to operate flexibly and strategically within their own discipline as well as across other disciplines and business issues. They will oversee a fluid innovation process that incorporates industry and consumer trends, insights analysis, ideation, concept development and roll-out.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·         Be the internal leader for the product roadmap and development cycles across all LA Clippers digital products and channels, including its network of mobile apps and OTT solutions.

·         Understand the organization’s business goals and translate them into a maintainable product vision and roadmap.

·         Work closely with developers, partners and customers to research, collect and translate market requirements into actionable engineering insights.

·         Effectively communicate market needs and prioritization to internal and external developers; understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with the team.

The LA Clippers are looking for a talented and passionate in-arena host for the 2016-17 basketball season! Do you have previous hosting experience and think you have what it takes? Job Summary:
The LA Clippers are looking for an in-arena host/emcee for all LA Clippers home games during the 2016-17 NBA season and outside events as needed. The host will assist with all contests and promotions by following an in-depth game script that will be provided by the Director of Game Presentation. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Clippers in-arena host/emcee with ability to project on a microphone in front of large audiences
  • Ability to engage with our fans and help in the planning and execution of partner promotions
  • Creative and innovative personality
  • Can create positive energy using both voice and body language
  • Attend game day meetings and on-court rehearsals held prior to all home games

Submission Details and Qualifications:

  • Video submissions must be sent to by COB on September 1st  
  • Invitations will be sent to potential candidates that are invited to attend an in arena audition by September 6th
  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to apply
  • Production/broadcast experience preferred
