Radio Host - LA Clippers (Los Angeles, CA)

Job Summary

The Radio Host is responsible for hosting Pre-Game, Halftime and Post Game shows for the LA Clippers Radio Network broadcasts, working primarily from the team’s home arena or in-studio at the flagship radio station.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

·         Host Pre-Game, Halftime and Post Game shows for all Pre-Season, Regular Season and Post Season games played by the team.

·         Provide background information, context and relevant statistical information for each broadcast, setting the table for the play-by-play broadcast team.

·         Conduct interviews with players, coaches and other members of the media, asking well researched and thoughtful questions.

·         Provide score updates and game recaps coming out of select breaks.

·         Ability to professionally host phone in segments with fans.

·         Adequately prepare for the above duties through research and study of NBA Basketball.

·         Voice credits, lead-ins, lead-outs and sponsor mentions as required by team’s sales efforts.

·         Other related duties as required.

Characteristics / Qualifications

·         Five (5) or more years of radio experience as On-Air Talent.

·         Knowledge of and passion for NBA basketball, including its rules, system and history.

·         Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as required.

·         Extensive experience with Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or similar audio editing software.

·         Strong skills as a writer for broadcast.

·         Demonstrated dedication with the ability to oversee projects from origin through execution.

·         Willingness to learn and should be able to flourish in a high growth, dynamic environment.

·         Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with hands-on approach towards business.
