Title:                     Atlanta Dream Finance Intern

Department:      Atlanta Dream Finance & Administration

SUMMARY

The Atlanta Dream Finance Intern will be responsible for assisting the Chief Operating Officer with several aspects of Finance Administration including accounts payable and accounts receivable, reporting, and data analysis.  

ELIGIBILITY

A candidate must be an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing. All candidates must receive academic credit from their college or university. Graduate students are encouraged to apply. Internship applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Interns must be available to work from 20 to 40 hours per week with flexible schedules. The typical Dream internship will last 12 to 20 weeks. Interns will also be expected to attend Dream games and various promotional events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements.

·         Assist  with the setup and management of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable electronic filing system.

·         Prepare monthly account reconciliations.

·         Data entry into the Client Relationship Management system

·         Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.

·         Assist in team financial reporting including team projections.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and EXPERIENCE

·         Undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing.

·         Completion of university courses in accounting, economics or finance highly preferred.

·         Previous business experience or internships are preferred.

·         Strong analytical skills.

·         Superior attention to detail and deadline orientation.

·         Ability to type, maintain confidentiality and maintain records and files.

·         Strong organizational skills.

·         Ability to work efficiently and multi-task under pressure.

·         Familiarity with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

SUMMARY

The Atlanta Dream Game Day Communications Interns (3) will assist the organization with all communications and PR efforts. This candidate will focus on media projects & efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work all game days - Be available three hours before tipoff through up to two hours following
  • Organize media information area
  • Set up press row
  • Manage copier
  • Distribute stats to media/teams (in-game/postgame)
  • Transcribe postgame player/coaches quotes
  • Compile postgame notes
  • Upload photos/videos to website system
  • Record coaches postgame comments to post to website
  • Work credential table/distribute credentials
  • Produce credentials on game days as needed
  • Assist in miscellaneous needs of television crew/visiting media
  • Compile stat packets of upcoming opponents for home team and visitors
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with sports-specific writing and/or broadcasting
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to take direction and be a self-starter
  • Well organized and skilled multi-tasker
  • Previous web/interactive media experience preferred
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Time Frame:       Position starts as soon as available and extends through the fall semester. We are able to be flexible with hours around classes and other responsibilities 

SUMMARY

The Atlanta Dream Events/Marketing Intern will be responsible for assisting with advertising, database marketing and updating our CRM software and event coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Updating our Client Relationship Management software as information is obtained

·         Assist with the organization of events

·         Assist in planning various grassroots marketing activities in order to drive ticket sales and brand awareness

·         Assist in managing the day to day operation of Dream retail function including inventory, fulfilling orders, purchasing and creating online promotions

·         Attending and staffing outside events

·         Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and EXPERIENCE

·         Marketing; sports administration; or related majors, preferred.

SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for cultivating and closing multi-year corporate sponsorships for the Atlanta Dream. Primary partnership targets will include local / regional corporate marketing decision makers, government entities, and corporate foundations.  Specifically, the role will sell fully integrated, marketing activation platforms tailored to the objectives and priorities of each individual partner.   The role will manage all aspects of the sales process from lead generation, proposal development, contract negotiations, as well as overseeing “best in class” account management throughout the life of the partnership. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain knowledge and understanding of the industry, relevant categories, and potential partner development

Identify and generate qualified leads and meetings through research, outreach, cold calling and existing relationships

Create and present customized presentations and sales materials based on specific client goals and objectives

Proactively seek input from team and internal operating areas to develop integrated and successful sponsorship activation ideas for potential and existing clients

Manage relationships with sponsors including interaction with clients, their agencies and vendors for development and implementation of their event marketing and promotional activities

Manage sales revenue projections, budgets and management of partnership expenses

Maintain timely and accurate records detailing sales performance, appointment recaps, account management and prospecting activities

Interact professionally and on a timely basis with all internal departments related to corporate partners i.e. ticket sales, marketing, social responsibility, finance, and administration

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have managerial responsibilities

Qualifications and EXPERIENCE

Experience managing the development and implementation of partnership marketing strategy

Strong organizational and problem solving skills

Ability to multi-task in fast-paced client-service environment while meeting deadlines

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills

Must be a team player and have the ability to foster excellent internal and external working relationships

Experience in sports marketing or management, preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage and cultivate relationships

Be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

College degree, with concentration in marketing, entertainment or sports management preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Knowledge of and passion for Dream/WNBA preferred Certifications, Licenses or Registrations as      

needed to meet education and/or experience.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP COORDINATOR INTERN

Description: Excellent opportunity to gain corporate partnership experience with the WNBA! The Corporate Partnership Department has an immediate opening for an energetic, outgoing, and creative individual who will assist the Manager of Corporate Partnerships with the development and implementation of corporate sports marketing partnerships for the WNBA Atlanta Dream. This individual will support the Manager of Corporate Partnerships in an administrative, sales, client servicing, and activation role.

Summary: Marketing, Sports Administration, Communications, or related Business majors preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Able to meet deadlines. Detail-oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Archtics and PowerPoint. Ability to work flexible hours which include office hours, game days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements and Duties:
• Must be available for EVERY home game, and between 20-40 hours per week for office duties (as needed)
• Provide support including cold calling, conducting research and new business prospecting
• Assist with creating sponsorship proposals, deal point memos, and contracts
• Must be capable of high level research and prospecting- understanding the importance to match team assets/inventory with partner needs, category placement and industry trends
• Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Creating and executing innovative ideas to assist in the promotion of the WNBA Atlanta Dream and corporate partnerships
• Fulfillment of on-site sponsorship activations and elements at Dream games at Philips Arena including: execution of on-site operational elements, client promotional set-up, product sampling, signage, client/suite hospitality, client ticketing needs, on-site contact for all shows
• Assist in managing existing and new business relationships
• Assist with fulfillment on other departments supporting sponsored programs (community relations, game presentation, ticket sales & service)
• Ensure delivery of contractual elements and providing excellent customer service and client fulfillment
• Assist with re-cap information illustrating key components and successes of each client program including overview, program highlights, and photos.
• Oversee merchandise in-arena and special events merchandise kiosk (as needed)
