SUMMARY

The Atlanta Dream Administration Intern will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer. Assistance may include PTO tracking, new hire/termination procedures, and benefits administration.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide assistance in the areas of personnel file maintenance, employee events and governmental compliance

  • Draft memos, new employee and service award bios.

  • Conduct audits of personnel files and other HR processes.

  • Track employees' timely completion of required HR forms and processes.

  • Assist with various research projects and special projects.

  • Maintain the highest levels of confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Assist with data entry, reports and organization.

The Atlanta Dream Coordinator of Finance & Administration will primarily be responsible for performing daily accounting functions, including but not limited to general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, recording and posting entries in the financial system, preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (G.A.A.P.) and established company polices, accounts receivable collections, processing accounts payables invoice, and performing ad-hoc accounting projects as requested by management. Prepare monthly bank reconciliation

Prepare, input and file monthly journal entries

Prepare monthly pre-paids and accruals

Compile and track fixed assets & depreciation

Prepare accounts receivable (A/R) invoicing

Conduct A/R follow-up (phone calls/2nd and 3rd notices, etc.)

Prepare monthly account roll forwards and balance sheet account reconciliations

Process Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices

Assist with preparation and analysis of organizational financial statements

Assist with other monthly close activities as assigned

Player and seasonal staff paperwork processing

Prepare annual tax forms, such as W-2s and 1099s

Assist with the annual financial audit

Other related duties as assigned

Contribute to the development and maintenance of company-wide policies and procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance

0-3 years accounting experience

Knowledge and Skills: 

Familiarity with accounting/financial software -- Experience using team accounting software preferred

Solid understanding of general accounting principles

Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines

Ability to analyze and evaluate financial data and effectively communicate verbally and in writing

Strong administrative and organization skills with attention to detail and follow-up required

Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of management demonstrating a strong balance of technical and interpersonal skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Social Media Management

·Develop social media best practices for staff, contributor, personal and member use working across departments to solicit input and buy in.

·Plan social media marketing initiatives and projects in priority order according to strategy and adhering to policy.

·Own and continually update social media best practices guide, ensure conventions are followed, and propose to expand contributors as relevant.

·Proactively monitor social media and database marketing industry on a daily basis, research latest tools and best practices and recommend improvements to integrate social throughout communication channels.

·Monitor and establish benchmarks for measuring the impact of social/email/sms marketing programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.

·Contribute to and implement social media best practices to evolve strategies according to performance and market trends.

·Communicate relevant feedback and actionable insights to marketing team that can enhance consumer sharing and engagement, generate ideas or streamline process.

·Manage Social Media Monitoring system and other resources and research to set up dashboards and to develop performance reports with benchmark comparisons on a weekly and monthly basis including key takeaways and action items.

·Establish and manage branded presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Google +, and others according to brand guidelines, social voice, and social media policy and strategy.

·Work closely with marketing and broadcast/communications staff to appropriately position content within branded social channels to drive engagement and sharing.

·Create special social media campaigns or contests using social apps such as Cover it Live

·Identify conversation trends and summarize positive or negative feedback to management immediately and investigate cause.

  • Extract, analyze and report weekly key metrics for website traffic and video engagement to department.

  • Educate senior management team and Marketing department of latest digital industry trending and stay abreast of all sports related news related to players, the league, and teams

  • Proactively execute best practices of search engine optimization to increase traffic and referrals to portals

 

Email Database Management

  • Manage all aspects of email marketing initiatives from data capture, optimization, email template generation and production.

  • Keep up with latest email marketing trends including design issues, deliverability, legal and privacy issues with direct marketing.

  • Analyze email performance and create report for management on a weekly basis.

 

SUPERVISORY   RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have managerial responsibilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications field

    • Excellent communication and writing skills

    • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills with ability to prioritize multiple/competing projects and assignments

    • Digital Media industry knowledge – social media, email/sms marketing, customer relationship management and customer engagement

    • Hands on experience administering social media accounts, online ad campaigns and keyword ad buys

 

PREFERRED  SKILLS

    • Advanced college degree in related field of communication, journalism, or sports management

    • Experience with video editing tools, graphic design software, cascading style sheets (CSS) and HTML skills a plus.

    • Knowledge of and passion for Dream/WNBA

Summary:

The Atlanta Dream Financial Analyst will primarily be responsible for completing the preliminary activities necessary to produce the bi-monthly financial reporting package, monthly operating expense reports& weekly revenue tracking reports and is expected to interface regularly with members of other operational department contacts. The Financial Analyst will also participate in the annual budget preparation process and provide support to the COO to produce any requested ad hoc analysis and reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compiling data for standardized monthly financial and operational reports, which includes running and reconciling the corresponding account transactional detail for each department’s operating expense report and the Capital Expense Update report along with any other key performance indicator reports

Preparing department monthly operating expense reports, which include detailed variance analyses

Improving financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions

Providing information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations

Creating and analyzing monthly event-based and project-based P&L statements

Preparing pro forma analysis for upcoming events 

Tracking and analyzing key event metrics

Providing data analytics support to revenue-focused departments (marketing, ticket sales, and sponsorship)

Researching cost-saving measures and cost analysis for various internal programs (i.e. technology upgrades, promo items, etc.)

Tracking and analyzing game-day revenue and expenses

Preparing ad hoc analyses and projects for senior management

Increasing productivity by developing automated applications; eliminating duplications; and coordinating information requirements

Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations

Accomplishing finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance, Economics or related fields

0-3 years financial reporting experience

Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with accounting/financial software -- Experienceusingteamaccountingsoftwarepreferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Prior experience executing the following activities: reporting, forecasting, analyzing financial Information, statistical analysis, preparing variance analyses, process improvement and financial planning & strategy
