Team TriCaster Director - Iowa Energy Home Games - NBA (Des Moines, IA)

 Position Summary:

The Team TriCaster Director will be responsible for managing the team’s daily Futurecast operations for the 2014 – 2015 NBA D-League season.  This project assignment is anticipated to last approximately seven months (November to May), and the individuals hired will be expected to work approximately eight hours during game days/nights for the duration of the assignment. 

Major Responsibilities
• Operate TriCaster on game nights
• Hire, train, and supervise game night Camera Operators, LiveText Operators and Replay Operators
• Coordinate with radio play by play crew for pre-game and half-time shows to:
- Select camera shots
- Insert graphics
- Insert promos
- Select highlights to replay during the game
• Switch audio feeds between radio play by play and commercial breaks
• Prepare 10 to 15 minute pre-game show that includes interviews with players and coaches prior to tip
• Prepare Half-time show, consisting of highlights D-League scores, fans and promos
• Prepare weekly conference call/e-mail updates with D-League and local team Public Relations representatives discussing relevant news and story-lines in the D-League. Participate in conference calls as scheduled by the D-League
• Record game file on drives and coordinate shipment for archive purposes
• Upload and publish game highlights to nbadleague.com via FTP servers
• Coordinate graphic build-out with graphics operator during pre-production
• Coordinate with radio announcers to determine what story-lines will be followed and any promos that are scheduled to air
• Breakdown and Secures equipment for post-game
• Deliver high resolution highlight package on a portable digital format on game nights with a written shot sheet that clearly describes the situation, action and result for each sequence
• Coordinate with your play by play announcer during post-game to voice-over game highlight packages
• Send game notes of the archive being shipped back to NBA Entertainment in New Jersey
• Participate in TriCaster training sessions if necessary

Required Skills/Knowledge
• Strong understanding of live sports television
• In-depth knowledge of the game of basketball
• Previous experience on TriCaster system helpful
• Basic computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Internet Applications
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Excellent relationship builder
• Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and be a part of a team

Experience Needed
• At least 5 years of experience as a local TV news/sports technical director, on-air director, or master control operator

Educational Background Required
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
