Financial Analyst - Utah Jazz (Salt Lake City, UT)

The Utah Jazz and the Larry H Miller Sports and Entertainment Group is hiring a Financial Analyst.  This position will have an active role in the monthly reporting and analysis, ad hoc reporting, budgeting, forecasting and projections.  Champion the company’s Mission and Vision, and model the company Values.

Specific Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Protect the moral, legal and financial well-being of the Company
  • Continually teach associates new and better ways of doing business with and emphasis on STEWARDSHIP, ACCOUNTABILITY, LEADERSHIP and GUEST SERVICE.
  • Analyzing internal financial performance/trends and recommending action
  • Creating detailed financial reports and dashboards
  • Forecasting, variance analysis, and financial modeling
  • Regulatory reporting and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting required plus minimum 2+ years of direct relevant preferred.
  • Candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Microsoft Office expertise, particularly in Excel, as well as data warehouse report writing is mandatory.
  • Experience with SQL Databases and Hyperion is a plus
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug screening prior to employment

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Exposed to walking, standing, twisting
  • Exposed to intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling and climbing stairs

Senior Vice President of Technology - Utah Jazz (Salt Lake City, UT)

The SVP of Technology is responsible for strategy, direction, architecture and overall operation of all technology platforms for LHMS&E.  This position requires expertise in technology related to media, retail, and sports entertainment industries.  Not only will this individual be responsible for strategic business planning, developing and executing the overall technological roadmap for each company, they must lead and communicate effectively through dynamic environments.  In addition, the SVP of Technology must have the ability to evaluate and determine returns on technology investments both financially and in the total guest experience.     


  • Identify opportunities and risks, recommend, develop, implement and support industry-leading technology solutions for system integration, security, shared information system interfaces, voice and data systems, disaster and data recovery and hardware/software acquisition.
  • Articulate the business value of technology by defining how it applies to business goals and objectives.
  • Provide reasonable ROI on all technology investments.
  • Align technology objectives and programs to each company’s objectives and strategies, including an integrated guest experience with a variety of technology platforms.
  • Must have the ability to appropriately manage risk and develop a security strategy that aligns with the business strategies.
  • Must provide a solid PCI compliance and cyber strategy across all platforms.
  • Secure and protect company information while complying with federal laws and regulations.
  • Participate in management decisions about corporate governance.
  • Manage strategic relationships with the business and external vendors.
  • Administer and control the technology budget.
  • Optimize services through internal and external resources.
  • Challenge, guide and develop talent for future growth.
  • Monitor digital technology and social trends that could impact the company.
  • Stay current with information about technology standards and compliance regulations.
  • Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.
  • Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful.

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in information technology with strong experience at a senior-management level.
