Basketball Operations Intern - Texas Legends (Frisco, TX)

The Texas Legends are looking to add a new member to the basketball operations staff.  This volunteer will work closely with the coaching staff and front office. This hardworking, reliable volunteer will be encouraged to learn the functions of a professional basketball team while being part of a fun and exciting environment.


• Serve as a locker room attendant: assist with locker room and game day set-up and visiting team and officials locker room preparation
• Assist with team’s laundry needs, including preparing all game and practice equipment, etc. 
• Assist with transporting players to various events, including practices, games, community appearances, medical appointments, etc. 
• Assist in team’s travel arrangements (e.g. transportation to airport, etc.) and communicate with other team liaisons prior to the team arriving in market
• Assist in transportation logistics for opposing teams to practice, shoot-around and games
• Set up all necessary equipment prior to practice
• Attend all practices and team-related events
• Other duties to be assigned by coaching staff as necessary

• Able to work days, nights and weekends as the schedule dictates
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 
• Have a valid driver’s license and clean traffic record

Community Relations Internship - Texas Legends (Frisco, TX)

The Texas Legends NBA D-League in Frisco, TX is currently seeking interns for the Community Relations Department. Texas Legends interns are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.
A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals. We are looking for someone willing to blend easily into a team environment, but driven to take the initiative to succeed when presented with individual work responsibilities

The Community Relations Intern will be responsible for the following duties:
Community Relations Duties
• Assist with community outreach events
• Participate in various ventures to collect information for organization outreach database
• Weekly participate of Texas Legends “Street Team” to engage fans, communicate promotions, ect.
• Assist Project Manager with various tasks as needed
Preferred Requirements:
• Currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an undergraduate program- preferred majors: Sport Management, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or other related field.
• Applicable social media skills
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, primarily Word and Excel

Director of Business Development - Texas Legends (Frisco, TX)

Responsible for maximizing revenue from the sale of tickets to consumers, groups and corporations. Essential duties for this position include but are not limited to

a.) Developing, writing and leading the implementation of a marketing and sales plan for season, group and individual tickets;
b.) Directing sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals;
c.) Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates;
d.) Creating and implementing sales promotion programs and literature;
e.) Representing the Team at local business and group association meetings to promote the team;
f.) Delivering sales presentations to key clients and meeting with key clients - maintain relationships, negotiations and close deals.

Qualified candidates will have successful sales experience - success in selling a variety of ticket packages for a sports or entertainment venue or event is preferred. Bachelor’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will have proven interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills. He/she should be organized, enthusiastic, and focused. The selected candidate will be multi-task oriented with the ability to work within demanding timeframes, have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees, and have demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Familiarity with the town and the sport is beneficial. Computer proficiency is necessary.

Player/Basketball Operations: Statistics
Game Night IDS Statistician - Texas Legends (Frisco, TX)

The Texas Legends of the NBA Development League is searching for game night IDS Statisticians and clock crew. These individuals would need to both understand the game of basketball and also be technically savvy. The NBA Development League uses IDS Statistician equipment which is comprised of a group of touch screen computers that send the live data, which the statistician inputs, to the website for viewers at home and generate box scores throughout the game. This is a game-day seasonal position.

RESPONSIBILITIES : (Including but Not Limited to):

·         Arrive 2 hours before tip-off

·         Oversee pre-game setup of all stats equipment

·         Compare pre-game input of game officials, rosters, etc.

·         Communicate each game with NBA IDS Help Desk

·         Input all stats and information throughout the entire game

·         Have clear understanding of the clock system and its functions

·         Validate all stats throughout the game with IDS program and Official Scorer to ensure 100%      accuracy

·         Submit all final game files and documents to IDS Help Desk and Team P.R. Director

·         Stay after the closing of each game to insure stats were sent to appropriate affiliations.


·         NBA IDS Statistical Training

·         Must work well with computers and the clock system

·         Must be able to multitask and work well under pressure

·         Must understand the game of basketball and the rules and regulations of the NBA

·         Previous stat/clock experience with professional, college or high school teams required.

·         Must be available to work on nights and weekends

·         Must clear NBA clearinghouse (background check)

·         Must be able to work professionally with referees, coaches and players

·         Must be able to take direction and apply directions quickly and effectively

COMPENSATION: TBD (per game compensation)

GENERAL NOTES:  The Texas Legends are the proud affiliate of the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks and play all home games at the Dr. Pepper Center located in Frisco, Texas.

Video Coordinator - Texas Legends (Frisco, TX)

The Texas Legends are looking to add a new member to the basketball staff.  This volunteer position will work intimately with the coaching staff and front office, assisting with various duties regarding film, game edits, and practice sessions.

A working knowledge of the game of basketball and video editing experience is required.  Critical to the job will be proficiency in basketball software platforms including Synergy Sports and FastDraw/FastScout Technologies.  Experience working on a professional or college basketball staff is encouraged.
