Brief Description of the Internship

Overview of the Internship: The Chinese Translation Internet Services Internship will provide the opportunity to assist with graphics and copy for HEAT.com/China and HEAT.com properties daily and learn alongside of the Miami HEAT Broadcast department in the creation, translation and deployment of video presentations and features.
Candidate must receive school credit from an accredited college/ university for the internship. Ability to monitor and handle multiple tasks. Candidate must be fluent in writing, translating and speaking Mandarin Chinese. Time management skills needed. Must be able to comfortably learn in a fast paced environment. Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop (or similar graphics program), HTML, translation tools and Microsoft Office programs. Multi-media skills such as non-linear editing on software platforms like AVID, Adobe Premiere or Final Cut a plus. Also, experience with video production and/or direction preferred.

Technical Services: Technical Support/Help Desk
Desktop Administrator (Full-Time) - Miami HEAT (Miami, FL)

Brief Description of the Position

1. Provide first and second level help desktop support. Reduce expenses through the use of competitive vendor quotes. Reduce help desk incidents and the mean time to repairs by proactively repairing hardware as needed. Reduce cost and repair turnaround by proactively seeking to establish competitive vendor relationships.
2. Laser printer hardware repair & maintenance.
3. Improve customer support process.  Prioritize severity of helpdesk calls; minimize user downtime; and deliver projects on time.
4. Provide first and second level technical support to clients for both desktop applications and hardware.
5. Point of Sale systems maintenance.
6. Help document all desktop and server based software implementations so that future upgrades and/or systems maintenance can be performed with technical efficiency, minimum downtime, and within budget.
7. Learn all arena game day and event systems.
8. Some Ethernet configuration and CAT 5 cable termination required.
9. Improve personal technical expertise to leverage current skill set and develop cost efficient and user-friendly IT solutions.
 

• Candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of all desktop systems in a network environment with diverse PC technologies.

• Candidate will act as an internal consultant, guiding and/or assisting others across departments in the field of data network communications and business computer systems.  Candidate must be able to apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.

• Monitor for network intrusion / viruses and manage network resource availability, and systems utilization.

• Manage and maintain operational The Heat Group's network remote access connections for third party business partners who provide vital services to the organization. (i.e. Ticketmaster, Levy, ATM's, various NBA connections, et.al.)

• Evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies; provide data technical support for all Arena events as required by customer or a technical dependency in coordination with Arena event coordinators; ability to supervise and work with third party consultants.

• Maintain system reliability (uptime) & stability.  Maintain compliance to system security best practices.


Min. 4 yrs hands-on Exp with LAN infrastructures; data switches. Microsoft Active Directory, MS-OS & MS Office applications.  The ideal candidate must be team oriented; self-motivated with good interpersonal skills; has a positive, professional attitude; and is willing to make a personal commitment to learn all Arena support requirements.  Must have A+ certifications and hands-on field experience; Apple MAC experience and certifications a plus; MIS degree and minimum 4 years of experience field work for a computer reseller/integrator a plus.

Overview of the Internship: Responsible for updating graphics for HEAT.com and Miami HEAT Mobile App pages daily. Responsibilities include formatting photos, creating graphics for contests, assisting in researching new technologies, helping in the creation, execution and fulfillment of online contests, uploading and deployment of graphics to the world-wide web, transcribing and assisting Internet Services employees in other duties.
Candidate must be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student in a College/University; Must be able to earn academic credit for internship. One to two years related experience and/or training preferred. Ability to monitor and handle multiple tasks. Time management skills needed. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines. Must be proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office programs and have working knowledge of HTML.
