Overview:

Responsible for selling Miami HEAT full season tickets, partial plans, premium seating and group ticket packages to area businesses and individuals through outbound phone sales calls and other activities.

Essential requirements:

Associate Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sell full season tickets, partial plans, premium seating and group ticket packages to companies, civic organizations, and individuals; Solicit through daily telemarketing, direct visits, lobby displays, direct mail and other means to generate leads; Develop and maintain call logs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis; Work with Inside Sales Managers to establish weekly, monthly, and annual goals; Implement tracking system for each account; Maintain Smartsell database for communicating with contacts, including mailing lists, fax numbers and e-mail; Disseminate all pertinent sales information to responsible parties within the HEAT Group and other partners; Prepare weekly status report for Inside Sales Managers; Work on special projects that multi-task across various departments; Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed; Manage Ticket Sales tables during Arena/Game events; as well as outside functions such as luncheons, business shows, conventions, etc; Attend NBA, and AmericanAirlines Arena events as scheduled; Assist other departments as necessary. Candidates must be articulate, self motivated, and goal-oriented, and enthusiastic. Excellent communication skills and a high level of energy and passion for what you represent are required.

Risk Management Representative -Part Time - Miami HEAT (Miami, FL)

Position Summary: The Risk Management Representative will be performing as the first responder in assisting rescue units by answering emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured patrons. After receiving notification of an emergency, the Risk Management Representative must safely respond to the address or location given.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Analyze the incident scene upon arrival to determine that the scene is safe, to identify the mechanism of injury or nature of illness, and the total number of patients, and to request additional help if necessary. In the absence of law enforcement, creates a safe traffic environment and / or secure the area from any recognized hazards.
2. Be responsible for third party (guests) incident investigations, reporting and claims management. Complete Incident / Accident Report Forms as necessary. Supervise and / or obtain event staff incident reporting duties. Act as liaison with EMS response teams. Participate in legal defense as necessary.
3. Work extended and / or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.
4. After each event and / or depending on the incident, brief the Director, Risk Management, of any incidents that occurred in his absence. At times, may be required to discuss incidents with the Director of Security, Security Manager, General Manager, Assistant General Manager and or Event Manager on Duty.
5. Perform any other risk management related duties as required.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or equivalent and one to two years if first responder experience.

Language Skills
Frequently required to compare, and coordinate. Occasionally required to copy, instruct and negotiate. Ability to effectively communicate using radio communication and cell phone. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to analyze, communicate, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, and compile.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Certificates, Licenses and/or Registrations
Florida Driver License required. Employee must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the Risk Management Department. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), AED, CPR, and First Aid preferred. State Licenses are a plus. Experience in law enforcement is a plus. Experience in the medical field is a plus.

  • Will assist the Vice President of Ticket Sales and Sales Managers on various daily tasks, will organize and maintain sales documents and materials.
  • Will assist with game and event night responsibilities as needed and in preparing presentations.
  • Will perform general office duties including data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing, maintaining mailing lists, collating, distributing departmental information and assisting with all direct mail efforts.
  • Prior to end of internship, will develop a project that could be incorporated into the departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must enjoy working with people in a customer service environment.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while balancing multiple tasks at once.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
