Brief Job Description of the Position

Professionally and accurately sell tickets for all HEAT games and Arena events to our guests at our sales windows. Possess the ability to handle cash and make change during cash transactions. Accurately distribute will call tickets to our guests for all HEAT games and Arena events.  Must be able to reconcile all daily sales without any overage/shortage occurring. Must be able to communicate clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations and remain professional with our guests at our Customer Service and HEAT Season Ticket Services windows. Answer inbound phones with the highest level of courtesy and accurately answer all guests inquires. High school diploma and Six months to one year of cashier experience, strong verbal and written communication skills, proven organization skills, computer literate, and strong customer service skills preferred. Ticketmaster and Archtics experience a PLUS.

Brief Discription of the Internship

Overview of the Internship: Responsible for sorting, handling, and fulfillment of all incoming requests. Assist in the coordination and execution of all community affairs events & programs including, but not limited to NBA Cares, Holiday programs, Hispanic Heritage Month and Black History Month, HEAT Learn to Swim Program, HEAT Academy, HEAT Youth Basketball.  Responsible for scheduling and fulfillment of the Honorary Ball Kid Program at all HEAT games. Responsible for writing Community Affairs event recap pieces for HEAT.com. Duties also include general office duties such as: data entry, answering phones, copying, filing, faxing, and maintaining mailing lists and donation requests. Will perform other duties as required.  

Must be enrolled in a college or university. Undergraduate Senior or Graduate Student preferred. Event planning and project management experience helpful. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks.  MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.  Heavy lifting will be required at times. Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.Must be enrolled in school and able to work from August to June.

IT Help Desk Coordinator-Full-Time - Miami HEAT (Miami, FL)

Brief Description of the Position

1. Provide first and second level help desktop support. Reduce expenses through the use of competitive vendor quotes. Reduce help desk incidents and the mean time to repairs by proactively repairing hardware as needed. Reduce cost and repair turnaround by proactively seeking to establish competitive vendor relationships.
2. Laser printer hardware repair & maintenance.
3. Improve customer support process.  Prioritize severity of helpdesk calls; minimize user downtime; and deliver projects on time.
4. Provide first and second level technical support to clients for both desktop applications and hardware.
5. Point of Sale systems maintenance.
6. Help document all desktop and server based software implementations so that future upgrades and/or systems maintenance can be performed with technical efficiency, minimum downtime, and within budget.
7. Learn all arena game day and event systems.
8. Some Ethernet configuration and CAT 5 cable termination required.
9. Improve personal technical expertise to leverage current skill set and develop cost efficient and user-friendly IT solutions.
 

• Candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of all desktop systems in a network environment with diverse PC technologies.

• Candidate will act as an internal consultant, guiding and/or assisting others across departments in the field of data network communications and business computer systems.  Candidate must be able to apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.

• Monitor for network intrusion / viruses and manage network resource availability, and systems utilization.

• Manage and maintain operational The Heat Group's network remote access connections for third party business partners who provide vital services to the organization. (i.e. Ticketmaster, Levy, ATM's, various NBA connections, et.al.)

• Evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies; provide data technical support for all Arena events as required by customer or a technical dependency in coordination with Arena event coordinators; ability to supervise and work with third party consultants.

• Maintain system reliability (uptime) & stability.  Maintain compliance to system security best practices.


Min. 4 yrs hands-on Exp with LAN infrastructures; data switches. Microsoft Active Directory, MS-OS & MS Office applications.  The ideal candidate must be team oriented; self-motivated with good interpersonal skills; has a positive, professional attitude; and is willing to make a personal commitment to learn all Arena support requirements.  Must have A+ certifications and hands-on field experience; Apple MAC experience and certifications a plus; MIS degree and minimum 4 years of experience field work for a computer reseller/integrator a plus.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or equivalent;  A minimum of two years Guest/Customer Service experience. Prior coaching and communications training preferred. Fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred.

Overview of the Internship: The Miami HEAT is hiring an Intern to join the New Media department for the upcoming Fall semester. The HEAT seek a candidate who has experience with social media platforms and is dedicated to the promotion of The Miami HEAT via Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of the social media universe. The ideal candidate is a forward thinking, motivated individual who has the ability to work independently and help the New Media department up their game on social media. Duties include: Monitors daily trends and social media chatter focused around the Miami HEAT.Gather and organize Miami HEAT social media analytics as well as contribute to social media recaps. Provide support with social media content (i.e. taking photos, player interviews, etc.). Generate ideas for Miami HEAT social media campaigns. Monitor fan-generated content on HEAT social networks (i.e. deleting inappropriate and vulgar comments, customer service issues, questions, etc.). Work closely and collaborate with Game Operations department on event coverage. Provides social media fan interaction during games and other HEAT events. Other duties as assigned by the New Media Coordinator.
 

Must be a college student, preferably junior or senior. Student major preferably communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or sports entertainment. Above average knowledge of the game of basketball and NBA trends. Above average knowledge of Miami HEAT history. Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays. Ability to work 15-20 hours per week.

Overview of the Job: The Miami HEAT seek an experienced Telecommunications Systems Administrator to work with its technical staff in Miami. The ideal candidate must be a motivated & professional self-starter who possesses excellent oral and written communication skills and works well under pressure. Major responsibilities include: Installation design, maintenance, configuration, training and troubleshooting of Avaya Definity G3 PBX, and Intuity Messaging system. Installation, testing, and configuration of trunks lines: T1' s, ISDN PRI, DID, E&M, Loop / Ground Start. Design, support, and cabling of Voice/ LAN/ WAN, both Cat5 and fiber optics. Call Center design and implementation: ACD, Call Vectoring, Auto Attendant, and call detailing reporting.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years experience: Troubleshooting in-depth telecommunications infrastructure issues. Installing, designing, maintaining, configuring, training and troubleshooting of Avaya Definity G3 PBX, and Intuity Messaging system. Utilizing project management skills to solve complex problems. Documenting and updating systems design and deployment through Visio or other written means.    

College degree preferred and/or  work equivalent experience. Pertinent Avaya Definity G3 PBX / Intuity Messaging systems technical certifications. Other relevant technical certifications or experience in Design, support, and cabling of Voice/ LAN/ WAN, both Cat5 and fiber optics.
