Position Summary/Objective:

  1. Responsible for overseeing the setup, operation and maintenance of a wide variety of AV equipment including: cameras, monitors, video switchers, character generators, audio mixers, microphones, record devices, routers, cables, IPTV systems and other AV equipment as assigned.
  2. Partner with other departments and clients to develop and deliver AV services that will meet and exceed expectations.
  3. Manage, monitor and install audio and video systems and troubleshoot problems for all Timberwolves and Lynx events.
  4. Interface with clients to manage their audio and video needs.
  5. Manage control room and cable infrastructure of the arena.
  6. Order, replace, and repair triax, fiber, coax, and XLR cable.
  7. Manage audio and video signal flow to detect and solve problems in a fast paced and high pressure environment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM-5:00PM. In addition to working office hours staff will work Timberwolves and Lynx home games and events. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps.

Position Summary/Objective: The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to hire one public relations associate, a seasonal position that will run from August 22 through two weeks after the end of the 2016-17 season. The position is an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the professional sports public relations field. This person will interact on a daily basis with members of the media as well as various departments within the Timberwolves organization to assist with the overall public relations efforts of the team. The position involves a large workload and unusual work hours, as well as substantial evening and weekend work.

Essential Functions

  1. Assist Timberwolves PR staff in all facets of the team’s public relations efforts.
  2. Produce daily stat packets and copy all printed materials for Wolves game nights (game notes, rosters, stats, etc…)
  3. Assist part-time media monitoring assistant in the tracking, evaluation and organizing of the team’s media coverage through its media monitoring system.
  4. Help part-time media monitoring assistant manage the team’s newspaper clipping system, including monitoring and recording all local media coverage.

  6. Occasionally write press releases; chief editor of the Timberwolves Preseason and Postseason Guides
  7. Update and manage the team’s media website on a daily basis.
  8. Create and provide media with credentials, as well as provide media and teams with statistical and press content.
  9. Participate in Timberwolves game-day in-arena media setup and take down. Assist with game-night media hospitality.
  10. Assist with any postgame events that may occur during Timberwolves home games.
  11. Transcribe quotes on game nights and distribute to the media.
  12. Regularly attend practices and shootarounds to assist with media interview requests.
  13. Occasionally attend appearances with players, coaches and staff (to media venues and in the community).
  14. Handle confidential information in a professional manner.
