Business Analytics Intern - New Orleans Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

The New Orleans Saints and Pelicans are looking for a very smart, analytical, dedicated problem solver to join our growing Business Analytics team and gain real-world experience with two professional sports franchises.  Enthusiastic, qualified applicants should be interested in learning first-hand about Ticketing, customer management, revenue maximization, database marketing and growth, and fan research, along with other project based engagements.  If you are motivated, bright, willing to work hard, looking to get your foot in the door in the sports industry, and think we’d be a good match for one other, we’d enjoy getting to know more about you.

The Business Analytics Intern will play an important role in CRM management, email marketing analysis, database cleanup and growth, fan research, and other projects with revenue-maximizing aims for both the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.

Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

•             Data crunching, data integrity, cleanup, standardization and acquisition

•             Develop research program for improved customer experience and database growth

•             CRM-based Email marketing, including list creation, management, and reporting

•             Ticket Sales and league-based reporting

•             Financial reporting

•             Food & Beverage, Merchandise reporting and analysis

•             Ad hoc Analysis, help support revenue maximization efforts

•             Assigning CRM campaigns

•             CRM sales rep support

•             Gameday box office support for big games

•             Analytical projects such as renewal scoring, yield analysis

•             Other projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA):

•             Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, computer science or a related field

•             Strong data analysis skills

•             Basic knowledge of relational databases

•             Working knowledge of ticketing systems and data structure

•             Demonstrated track record of detail orientation

•             Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Power Point

•             Strong ability to multi-task

•             Determined problem solver

Preferred Skills:

•             Experience with ticketing software, preferably Archtics

•             Experience with data querying language, especially SQL

•             Experience with customer relationship software, particularly Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Working Conditions:

•             Typical office environment

•             Must be able to sit and work at a computer 80% of the day

•             Must be able to get around arena to assist with surveying during events/gamedays

•             Working schedule/hours will ebb and flow with NBA/NFL schedules, and will include working some late hours, holidays, nights, and weekends

•             Must be able to lift 20 pounds for general office needs

Digital Developer - New Orleans Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

This position is responsible for design/development of company web pages. The Digital Developer will assist in various areas relating to the daily maintenance of Pelicans.com and NewOrleansSaints.com and may be asked to assist with managing the team’s social media channels as well as game-related duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design and code site pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery

  • Apply web techniques for clean HTML, image optimization and responsive/adaptive behavior

  • Create clean and valid code for modularity and reusability

  • Lead testing and deployment of web projects

  • Assist in the development of HTML-based email templates

  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat

  • Daily editing and posting of content to Pelicans.com and the team app.

  • Game duties (home and away) as assigned

  • Remain current in the latest technology and advancements in web design.

Criteria/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in web development and design
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is required. Must be able to hand code.
  • Experience with responsive design
  • Experience with the Drupal content management platform
  • Experience with web content management systems
  • Proficiency with Adobe Web Premium Suite
  • Functional knowledge and experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator is a plus.

Premium Sales Account Executive - New Orleans Pelicans (New Orleans, LA)

The Premium Sales Account Executive generates revenue through premium seating sales employing multiple methods to generate leads, follow up on leads, and sell multiple premium ticket packages and suites.  The ability to build and cultivate relationships with executives through setting face to face appointments and networking is essential.  The focus of sales efforts is on selling Annual Suites, Suite Packages & Nightly Suite Rentals, as well as Floor & Club seating. 

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Meet or exceed established yearly revenue goals

  • Prospect and cultivate new sales leads through creative lead generation methods, as well as follow up on leads provided by the team

  • Conduct sales conversations via phone presentations, in-office meetings/presentations and meetings at the New Orleans Arena

  • Entertain and nurture relationships with clients and prospects through creative means including but not limited to: networking events, speaking engagements, one-on-one dinners / lunches, prospect sampling and outside meetings

  • Perform accurate and skilled deal closings

  • Provide high end service for our premium clients, including but not limited to: renewals on an annual basis, collection of payments and receiving executed seat contracts

  • Develop and grow relationships with current clients to increase selling opportunities through exceptional service and referrals

  • Enter all pertinent prospect and customer information in CRM platform for efficient reporting and historical data purposes

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with strategic thinking and personal leadership skills

  • Work well in a team selling environment and ability to collaborate with others

  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage and prioritize daily effort

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate effectively with prospects, customers and internal team

  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, and CRM Dynamics

  • Ability to work irregular hours, event coverage and weekends

  • Reliable transportation to reach the market on outside sales appointments is essential
