BOX OFFICE ASSOCIATE

The Seattle Storm is a professional basketball franchise looking for a part time box office associate. This position is dedicated to the efficient servicing of all Seattle Storm guests at the KeyArena box office on game nights.  The box office associate duties include walk-up ticket sales and will-call.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Sell tickets via Ticketmaster system

·         Handle outbound and inbound will-call requests

·         Interact with guests to answer questions and resolve ticketing issues

·         Handle cash and credit card transactions and balance a simple bank

Qualifications and Requirements

·         Excellent customer service skills

·         Excellent verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work under pressure

·         Prior use of Ticketmaster or similar ticket system preferred

·         Previous box office experience preferred

·         Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays as scheduled

The box office associate reports to the Manager of Ticket Technology & Operations, and is a non-exempt, part-time position.

Broadcast Production Intern - Seattle Storm (Seattle, WA)

Broadcast Production Intern

What you will do:

  • Assist with all aspects of producing 18 live basketball games.

  • Assist with implementing strategic initiatives via telecasts.

  • Collaborate with multiple departments and achieve key objectives in each telecast.

  • Work directly with talent on schedule, game preparation, and timing.

  • Monitor commercial logs.

  • Prep producer for each telecast to include spot logs, commercial content, promotional reads and graphics.

  • Be an active participant in all aspects of the broadcast to include control room monitoring and decision making, talent communication, and clock/time coordination.

Communication Assistant & Writer - Seattle Storm (Seattle, WA)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Seattle Storm is seeking a professional, detail-oriented individual with strong writing and editing skills to drive content development for multiple marketing and communications channels. The goal of this writer is to build audience through affinity, excitement and community amongst Storm fans. This position reports to the Public Relations Manager.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

Create and implement an editorial calendar beginning in the preseason and lasting through playoffs.

  • Responsible for all written content on StormBasketball.com, including feature/lifestyle stories and all basketball content (game previews, recaps and practice reports)

  • Actively track player stats and milestones

  • Assist in media guide and preseason and playoff media guide production

  • Assist with all game notes for all home and road games

  • Produce postgame notes and quotes documents at all home games

  • Update Media Central daily / as updates are needed

  • Assist with writing, proofreading and editing all marketing, communications and sales materials developed within the organization

  • Assist with social media content development

  • Write all roster card messaging to convey key messages in the organization

  • Manage weekly Monday morning releases to media

  • Proactively offer ideas for new content

  • Act as a fact-checker for website and newsletter content

  • Manage game-day assistants and staffing

  • Assist with other duties as necessary

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES

This job requires a strong background and experience with professional writing. Samples of published work are required.

  • Write content in a consistent voice that adheres to brand positioning and core values of the Storm

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in journalism, writing, editorial or marketing

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • Previous published writing proficiency, preferably web features

  • Self-starter with creative ideas

  • Fast, concise accurate writer with great sense of how to speak to fans

  • Sense of humor and ability to capture the fun of Storm games, players and fans

Marketing & Game Operations Associate

OBJECTIVES

  1. Offer key learning’s about game day ops and marketing collaboration in a pro sports setting

  2. Support the marketing, merchandise and game ops departments with all internal processes and game day procedures

  3. Offer candidate an opportunity to work cross-departmentally throughout the season, ensuring clear communication and teamwork between other departments and game ops for a continued exceptional experience for Storm fans

JOB DUTIES:

GAME & EVENT OPS

  • Assist with in-game activation of sponsored elements

  • Sales FEP and partnership activation spreadsheet management

  • Create headshot chart and numerical rosters for both teams for every game

  • Attend production meetings pregame

  • Communicate with vendors to book rentals and activities for games and events

Assist in the coordination of all VIP, Storm 360 Member and community parties and events; including site visits, team logistics, prop and signage supplies and all other coordination as needed 

KEY LEARNINGS:

  1. See first-hand a world-class game day production and event management, from start to finish

  2. Candidate will gain extensive experience managing logistics with vendors and external companies needed for games and events

Candidate will gain a deep understanding of how marketing and game operations supports each department, especially sales and partnerships, within a pro sports team

MARKETING

  • Attend pre-script and final script meetings prior to game day, assuring that all in-game contracted and paid elements are included

  • Attend marketing meetings on a weekly basis for brainstorming and cross-department collaboration

  • Will assist with budget oversight and management

  • Assist in oversight of Dance Troupe and mascot operations

Assist in Event and Entertainment team scheduling

KEY LEARNINGS:

  1. Candidate will have inside-access at how a pro sports team marketing department is run

  2. Through attending marketing meetings and script meetings, candidate will gain knowledge of multiple departments within marketing (digital, PR, CR)

  3. Through budget management, candidate will learn decision-making as it relates to spending money for ROI (mascot events, giveaways, etc)

 MERCHANDISE

  • Manage arrival and receiving process for merchandise

  • Assist team shop manager with transportation and shipping of online orders

Assist with the organization of the Storm Team Shop behind-the-scenes and at all external-facing store locations

Force 10 Hoops (Seattle Storm) is a professional basketball franchise that is looking for motivated, energetic, and dedicated individuals to gain hands-on experience in professional sports as part of the Storm Marketing & Promotions Team. Work closely with members of the Storm’s Marketing and Events & Entertainment Departments to execute projects from start to finish, including: community outreach promotions, game nights, Storm special events and administrative support. Many of these events are on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Plan, implement and manage game night functions (in-arena, on-court, concourse & plaza activities) for every Storm home game

  • Assist in event planning for marketing, ticket sales, community relations and public relations initiatives (e.g, basketball clinics, Season Ticket Holder parties, press conferences, Media Day, marketing events)

  • Seek out database building opportunities and lead generation

  • Manage Marketing & Event inventory (premium items, printed materials, signage, props)

  • Contribute to the development of branding/positioning for all advertising and promotional campaigns including ticket sales, sponsorship activation, TV and radio broadcasts, grassroots events, and KeyArena game activities

Force 10 Hoops (Seattle Storm) is a professional basketball franchise that is looking for a motivated, energetic, and organized individual to work in its Team Store. This is a part-time, temporary position. Approximately 5-15 hours/week from May – September.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
•Greets and acknowledges customers
•Recommends, selects and helps locate or obtain merchandise for customers
•Processes sale with appropriate point of sale system, accepts payment, counts change and bags merchandise
•Follows all register procedures and handles cash accordingly
•Verifies amount of bank at beginning and the end of each shift
•Completes all related close-out paperwork and performs other duties as assigned
•Run merchandise to locations as needed
•Maintains a clean and organized store or stand
•Assists with loading and unloading of merchandise
•Distribute merchandise to locations
•Ensures that all merchandise is correctly labeled and displayed
•Sets aside and notifies supervisor of defective, mismarked, mislabeled, incorrectly priced, shopworn or damaged merchandise
•Conducts inventory, as directed by supervisor/manager
