Accounting Manager - San Antonio Spurs (San Antonio, Tx)

Working under the direction of the Senior Director of Financial Planning this position is responsible for managing the company's accounting practices and policies and the preparation of its financial statements in accordance with GAAP. This position will supervise a staff of 3+, monitor the daily activities of the staff; communicate effectively with management and provide timely information for use in overall business analysis.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards for all SS&E Franchises, including but not limited to journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and variance to budget analysis.
  • Ensuring the appropriate processes and controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and league reporting requirements.
  • Plan and prepare budget, projection and reporting process for all SS&E franchises, which includes meeting with management, uploading budget into accounting system, producing budget financial reports, and performing monthly reviews with management
  • Manage general accounting staff as it relates to professional growth and development; while monitoring and assessing their work performance and providing consistent support and feedback.
  • Manage and ensure timely completion of audits including annual financial statement and league audits (Basketball Related Income and Combined Financial Statements). Including preparing schedules requested by 3rd party auditors and tax professionals (financial, sales tax, and federal tax).
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports, league reporting and assist in presentations for the bi-annual Board and Investor meetings.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 7-10 years accounting experience
  • 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and FRx Report writing preferred and/or a like accounting software package.
  • CPA or MBA a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize work when given multiple projects.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with all levels in the organization

CRM Manager - San Antonio Spurs (San Antonio, Tx)

This position is responsible for the training, implementation and customization of CRM software and applications within SS&E. The eligible candidate will oversee the ongoing management and optimization of SS&E’s database marketing and customer relations systems with a focus on growing adoption, creating efficiencies, and driving revenue. The eligible candidate will service and deal with a diverse group of important clients and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels; independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.

Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee day-to-day duties of CRM management, such as pulling lists, launching sales/renewal campaigns and building adhoc campaign
  • Strategic development and documentation of business rules related to the input of data, lead management, sales processes, customer segmentation, customer communication, and others.
  • Responsible for implementing ongoing user training and continual monitoring of data entering the system to ensure data hygiene and user compliance to established business processes.
  • Assist in the development of sales and marketing campaign strategies through an understanding of customer preferences exposed by available data.
  • Continuously expand the amount of available information through new data collection methods and integration of necessary 3rd party data sources.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or related field
  • At least two years of industry experience working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM is required
  • Experience with initial MSCRM installation and business configuration is preferred
  • Experience with and Hosted Archtics/TM preferred
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) is a plus
  • Understanding of CRM as it relates to sales, marketing and email marketing functionalities
  • MSCRM Certification a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level positions.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.

Inside Sales Manager - San Antonio Spurs (San Antonio, Tx)

Primary responsibilities include continuous recruiting, hiring, training, and development of inside sales staff with the focus of generating, maintaining and increasing Full Season, Partial and Group Ticket Sales for all Spurs Sports & Entertainment franchises including Stars, Spurs, Rampage, SAFC and AT&T Center Events.  Provide extensive customer service training and continual development of relationships with customers with retention as the primary goal. Possesses the ability to recognize “A” players as employees and acts as a mentor by developing others professional and personal skills as well as one’s own. Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, train, lead and develop Inside Sales Representatives including, but not limited to hiring, monitoring, supervising, managing, coaching, mentoring and evaluating new sales staff on a continuous basis.

Customer service programs must be developed and implemented with the goal of building loyalty to all SS&E properties by utilizing standard practices such as seat visits, customer service calls/programs, and timely follow-ups with thank you cards, courtesy calls and other customer outreach tools
  • Establish, maintain and grow internal relationships, including but not limited to, franchise ticket sales management, season ticket and premium services, sponsorships, partnership activation, community responsibility, human resources, game and building operations, marketing and security.
  • Track and report daily and weekly sales and provide to the Vice President of Ticket Sales and Services.
  • Coordinate and follow up with all necessary SS&E departments to ensure all customer service and sales opportunities are met.
  • Attend, contribute and participate in weekly sales department meetings as well as a weekly meeting with the Group Sales Manager.
  • Assist the Group Sales Manager and Franchise Sales Managers with the creation, planning, communication, and implementation of all special projects, promotions, and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned 


Qualifications: 

  • At least 5 years of marketing and sales experience in sports or entertainment
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred; including proven hiring, leadership, employee development, and supervisory skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with Ticket Master Archtics Ticketing System preferred
  • Understanding of lead management system and data capturing systems ( Sales Genie,   Turnkey Prospector)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to prioritize work when given multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with all levels in the organization

Technical Services: Director
Team TriCaster Director - Austin Spurs (Austin, TX)

The Team TriCaster Director will be responsible for managing the team's daily TriCaster operations for the 2016 - 2017 NBA D-League season. This project assignment is anticipated to last approximately six months (November to April), and the individuals hired will be expected to work approximately eight hours during game days/nights for the duration of the assignment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Operate TriCaster on game nights
  • Coordinate load-in and load-out of equipment at the start and finish of the season
  • Hire, train, and supervise game night Camera Operators, LiveText Operators and Replay Operators. NBA Entertainment can assist with training for 3Play4800 and Live Text if necessary
  • Coordinate with announcers for pre-game and half-time shows to:

- Select camera shots

- lnsert graphics

- lnsert promos

- Select highlights to replay during the game

  • Switch audio feeds between radio play by play and commercial breaks if necessary
  • Prepare half-time show, consisting of highlights D-League scores, fans and promos
  • Participate in conference calls as scheduled by the D-League office to discuss highlight players, key discussion and review previous game coverage
  • Record game file on drives and coordinate shipment for archive purposes
  • Upload and publish game highlights to nbadleague.com via FTP servers
  • Coordinate graphic build-out with graphics operator during pre-production
  • Coordinate with radio announcers to determine what story-lines will be followed and any promos that are scheduled to air
  • Breakdown and secures equipment for post-game
  • Supervise 3Play operator and assist as necessary creating a melt of the game to be included on the hard drive shipped back to NBAE for each game.
  • Participate in TriCaster training sessions if necessary

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of live sports television
  • ln-depth knowledge of the game of basketball
  • Previous experience on TriCaster system helpful
  • Basic computer skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and lnternet Applications
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship builder
  • Must be self-motívated, able to work independently, and be a part of a team
  • At least 5 years of experience as a local TV news/sports technical director, on-air director, or master control operator

Educational Background Required

·         Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
