Associate Creative Services Manager - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (San Antonio, Tx)

SS&E is search for a creative designer/leader who wants to grow and learn in the Sports Creative Field! The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide range of projects, from print, branding, environmental, and digital design.

Responsibilities: 

  • Design promotional material (posters, print & digital ads, postcards, brochures, apperal, invitations, signage, in-arena lighthouse LCD/LED)
  • Responsible for leading the creative direction, concept, development and production of original and brand-conscious designs for Spurs Sports & Entertainment and it’s franchises.
  • Oversee a team of three designers to ensure quality and brand consistency.
  • Work with web, video & animation teams to ensure a consistent look across all platforms.
  • Help maintain and establish creative department processes and policies. Coordinate with printers, sign and display companies, outside agencies/freelancers and sponsors. Oversee print production and timelines. Manage and mentor full time and part time designers to promote professional growth.

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to lead & inspire a team of Designers. 
  • Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects & Premiere
  • Branding and logo design experience.
  • The ability to manage time and work independently or with a team.
  • Strong composition, layout and typography skills.
  • Large format print design experience a plus.
  • Photography & animation skills are a plus.
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Great organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Is flexible with schedule; willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays, pending events schedule.

Director of New Member Ticket Sales - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (San Antonio, Tx)

This position will oversee the San Antonio Spurs Ticket Sales Team. This team is responsible for growing FSE revenue and group ticket revenue for the San Antonio Spurs.  A successful Director of New Member Ticket Sales will prioritize their staff and their business achievements. The Director of New Member Ticket Sales is responsible for hiring, coaching and developing a sales team, providing a business plan to achieve season ticket revenue goals and weekly updates, insights and innovative strategies for this business unit.  The ideal candidate must have five (5) – seven (7) years of sales management experience, a positive attitude, collaborative team approach, a facilitator mindset, and demonstrate a desire to learn and develop professionally, and possess strong sales leadership skills. A strong work ethic, passion for sales within the sports and entertainment industry, experience with social selling and a desire to work on a goal-driven team are essential qualities. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Ticket Sales & Service and be expected to develop sales plans and establish revenue targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop and train Spurs Ticket Sales staff of 10 members.  Includes hiring, training, supervising and development of individual members to prospect and sell new season ticket memberships and group ticket sales for the San Antonio Spurs and Franchises (SA Stars, SA Rampage and SAFC when called upon).  Accountable for the growth and insuring that Account Executives and Ticket Sales Representatives are accountable to accomplish their individual ticket sales revenue goals
  • Responsible for modernizing and expanding the ticket sales process to include training and the use of social selling tools, lead scoring and CRM campaign management, automated e-marketing sales techniques, outside event and appointment selling as well as in-game selling.
  • Manage the following areas:  Lead Management, distribution of accounts, establishment of clear sales revenue goals, accountable for campaign management including call volume, appointment setting and conversion rates and social selling training. Develop processes, along with Marketing & Business Analytics departments, to maximize database acquisition and lead management via CRM. Coordination and communication of annual partial plan select-a-seat and renewal campaign.
  • Sales Strategy planning:  Innovate, create and implement new ticket sales opportunities.  Areas to include are B2B Premium Seat training, prospecting and selling, plaza and fan zone member prospecting, partial plan retention and new sales efforts.  Additional areas of sales strategy planning include pricing, yield management, incentives, sales contests, development of individual and team compensation plans, accountability for setting and achieving sales goals for both season ticket sales and group sales efforts from the 10 member sales team.
  • Expectation to collaborate with Director of Season Ticket Retention, Director of Ticket Operations, Director of Business Analytics, Sr. Group Sales Manager and Marketing Team to develop and implement sales plans, enhance culture and revenue generation for the San Antonio Spurs. Responsible for sharing sales results along with key learnings and insights with VP of Ticket Sales & Service on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee, manage, communicate and lead the launch of annual new member season ticket sales campaign along with the direct oversight, execution of growing and conversion of the season ticket wait list to active members. 

Qualifications: 

  • Proficient in ticketing systems (specifically Ticketmaster), Customer Relationship Management, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills required.
  • 5-7 years of sales experience in sports or entertainment required
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience required; including proven hiring, leadership, employee development and supervisory skills.
  • Four-year degree required
  • Proficiency in selling techniques and ability to teach others
  • Strong written, verbal communication, presentation and problem solving skills required.
  • Strong teamwork aptitude required.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate multiple tasks.

Inside Sales Representative - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (San Antonio, Tx)

Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) is seeking positive and passionate individuals that are committed to becoming sales leaders in the sports and entertainment industry. This position is a 12 month career growth-oriented sales development program which will focus on the development of the skills and knowledge needed to become a senior sales professional. The intention of this program is to grow the Consultants’ skills to a level that will warrant a promotion to a senior level sales position in the sports industry upon the successful completion of the program.

Responsibilities will include generating new revenue through the selling of season tickets and group tickets for the San Antonio Spurs, Rampage, Stars, SAFC, and AT&T Center Family Shows and/or Events. This position is responsible for generating revenue via phone calls, prospecting, referrals, face-to-face presentations and in-arena appointments with a strong focus on relationship sales and customer retention.

Seating System Technician - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (San Antonio, Tx)

This position is primarily responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Retractable Seating Systems at the AT&T Center. This position also functions as an overnight Conversion Crew Leader who leads others in setting up and removing stages, chairs and other equipment necessary for basketball, hockey and concert events.

  • Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a complex Retractable Seating System

  • Be available to work overnights and weekends according to a predetermined calendar of events
  • Be mechanically inclined with good mechanic skills to have the Retractable Seating System ready and operational at all times
  • Train other persons to learn and assist in the operation and maintenance of the RSS
  • Train a backup operator for the system
  • Keep an inventory of all parts, wheels, and other equipment necessary for emergency repairs
  • Be a leader of part-time staff and temporary workers to setup and remove stages, chairs, and other equipment as defined by event needs.

Qualifications: 

  • College degree and/or mechanical knowledge
  • Understanding of electrical concepts and terms
  • Experience as a mechanic
  • Enjoy troubleshooting problems and making repairs
  • Is able to bend over, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and able to climb around and under equipment

Senior Operations Manager - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (San Antonio, Tx)

The Senior Operations Manager, under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations, directs Operation Managers, Conversion Manager, the Retractable Seating Leader and coordinates other facility personnel, subcontractors, and daily activities involved in the successful preparation and execution of events at the AT&T Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of Event Operations including event preparation and services, riggings, event staffing, set-ups and changeovers, fire and life safety and OSHA compliance. 
  • Lead subordinate managers and supervisors who oversee employees in various functions. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Learn and utilize ISS maintenance and reporting system.
  • Ensure NBA, WNBA, and AHL game day required checklists have been followed and the required documentation has been completed and submitted as directed.

  • Learn, train, operate, and oversee staff who operate and maintain the retractable seating systems
  • Assist the Senior Director in the preparation of the annual operating budget; recommend annually capital budget items for long-range repairs and improvements to the facility; and authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.
  • Oversee and maintain accurate inventory controls for event equipment and tools.
  • Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Review and amend operations procedures, preventive maintenance schedules, and safety/risk management policies
  • Review contracts, communicate with tenants, and work with subcontractors to determine special requirements.
  • Ensure Event Briefs are completed as listed in the time specified
  • Ensure overnight conversions are completed in the time specified
  • Oversee the use of temporary labor needs, sources, and effective personnel management
  • Plan, budget and schedule facility repairs and modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts and contracts for repairs and conversions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university.
  • Five - seven (5-7) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position.
  • Previous experience in a professional sports environment required.
  • Skilled trade experience a plus.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for NBA basketball, AHL/NHL hockey, and all other events at the facility.
  • Possess skills and experience in labor relations, purchasing procedures and supervising/training personnel.
  • Engage in decision making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints, CAD drawings and other related materials.
  • Meet the physical demands of this job, which include being able to get in and around the facility (requires personal mobility), lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and moderate to loud noises.
  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, bobcat, Zamboni machine, scrubbing machines or other light power driven equipment.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.
  • Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Microsoft Office and CAD software.
