Austin Toros Inside Sales Representative-Part Time - Spurs Sports & Entertainment (Austin, TX)

POSITION:  Inside Sales Representative (Part Time)
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  
REPORTS TO: Toros Business Operations
DIRECT REPORTS: None

CAPSULE POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Austin Toros are seeking positive and passionate individuals that are committed to becoming sales leaders in the sports and entertainment industry. This position is a seasonal, career growth-oriented sales development program which will focus on developing the skills and knowledge needed to become a sports sales professional. This program is intended to assist the full-time Ticket Sales Representatives in contacting local businesses and organizations to sell group and season tickets. Responsibilities will include generating new revenue through the selling of group and season tickets for the Austin Toros.  Revenue will be generated via phone calls, prospecting and referrals with a strong focus on relationship sales and customer retention.

Position Pay: $7.25 per/hour 
Hours: 20-29hrs/week
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrated alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaboration with key internal/external resources and 3) Ongoing self development.

KRA'S (Key Responsibility Areas):
1. Oversee a group project from beginning to end including the following: brainstorm the group project, pitch to group manager, develop group project, plan and sell the group project.  All aspects of the project will be assisted by a group reprentative and manager.
2. Experience the Season Ticket Sales Process including the following: generating a leads list, research, cold call, sales process and close.  All aspects of the project will be assisted by a season ticket reprentative and manager.
3. Participate in a high level project designed to drive sales including the following: season ticket pricing, renewal rate projection, benefits and packaging and ticket programs and offers.  All aspects of the project will be assisted by a manager.
4. Attending and assisting with set up of select community events.  Responsibilities at evetns will include: Distributing information, selling the Toros to people in attendance and assisting the Toros mascot and dance team at events.

The following measurement methods are intended to provide a sound basis for assessing the performance of the jobholder in this position.  Although numerous methods are listed as suggested measurements the supervisor may elect to select only specific ones based on the need of the company at any point in time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Marketing a related field or equivalent job experience in a related field.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Drive and desire to be a sales industry leader.
• Ability to work as a team player while being open and willing to learn.
• Ability to present sales information to potential clients.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, some holidays, and nights.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Commitment to personal integrity.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• 1 year training, internship or sales experience

Austin Toros Operations Intern - Spurs Sports and Entertainment (Austin, TX)

 POSITION: Operations Intern

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager and Media & Community Responsibility Manager
Direct Reports: None

CAPSULE POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Operations interns have the opportunity to see the business side of sports marketing first hand for the Austin Toros. The Austin Toros are a part of the NBA Development League, the NBA’s minor league system. The Austin Toros are directly affiliated, owned, and operated by the San Antonio Spurs. Interns have the opportunity to work directly with the Austin Toros, dealing with various aspects of the day to day operation of the Team, such as marketing, community events, game nights and general office duties. Operations interns are involved with the creative side as well, participating in brainstorming sessions and meetings where promotional ideas are discussed. Internships are paid positions (minimum wage), but are not guaranteed employment once the internship is completed.

Internship length: May 2014 – August 2014

o Example – Survey and research trends in the sports industry
o Example – Assist with efforts to increase awareness of the Austin Toros brand and image
o Example – Manage and update list of Austin media outlets
o Example- Develop copy for press releases and media guides
o Example- Manage Austin Toros social media sites such as, but not limited to Facebook and Twitter
o Example- Assist with website updates and maintenance
3. Assist the Business Operations department with basic financial responsibilities
o Assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable data entry
o Organization of financial information
o Filing, copying and scanning of financial records
o Assist with monthly credit card reports
o Assist with monthly cash deposits and associated reports
4. Assisting the Marketing department with marketing duties
o Example- Update marketing information including examples of all advertising pieces and contact information
o Example- Work to develop radio spots and print materials
o Example- Research creative new marketing and promotional ideas
o Example- Develop and execute promotional theme nights
5. Assist with general office duties
o Example- Assisting with duties such as mailings and filings
o Example- Management of computer database
o Example- Answering phones and directing calls when in the office
o Example- Experience the sales process by researching leads and making cold calls

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be available to work May 2014- August 31, 2014 in the office and at community events
• Must be a junior or senior in a 4-year College, or enrolled in a related graduate program
• Must be able carry/move/handle 25 pounds boxes
• Self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated
• Has the ability to work efficiently and in a timely manner in order to meet strict deadlines
• Has a commitment to excellence
• Is outgoing, resourceful and able to work with a diverse working environment.
• Is flexible with schedule; willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays, pending events schedule.

Internships are paid positions (minimum wage), but are not guarantees of employment once the internship is completed. Internships last approximately one school semester, summer, or in correspondence with a sports season and is based on successful completion of duties and fulfillment of all responsibilities.
