Director, Business Analytics and Strategy - Golden State Warriors (Oakland, CA)

POSITION OVERVIEW

This newly created position will be responsible for developing and implementing a business strategy department for the organization.  This position will manage and direct all of the business strategy enterprise initiatives for the Golden State Warriors. This new role and department will provide the evaluation and implementation of a broad range of strategic and financial initiatives that support the business.  Primarily responsible for providing fact based data driven guidance to the organization. 

This position will provide quantitative analysis and data driven insights on:  ROI/ROO analysis, ticketing pricing/inventory analysis, customer retention, yield management,  single game ticket management, customer lead scoring, attendance forecasting, tracking effectiveness of marketing spend, market segmentation, sponsorship valuation and other analytical/strategic projects. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and direct the activities for the Business Strategy department. 
  • Provide data analysis and strategic direction for internal customers on functional area/department specific initiatives.
  • Manage and direct the activities for the Business Strategy department team members; establishing performance expectations and accountabilities to ensure achieving desired outcomes.
  • Implement CRM throughout the organization, customizing as necessary to match the business needs of each functional area or department. 
  • Analyze Marketing and Sales campaigns, initiatives and results to measure effectiveness and success.
  • Perform survey analysis and ad-hoc financial modeling as required.
  • Manage reporting data and dashboards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years of Finance and/or Business Strategy experience
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in analytical or consulting role in industries with finite commodities
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including Micosoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), statistical software (SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.).  SQL experience is a plus
  • CRM (e.g. Salesforce, MS Dynamics) knowledge and experience required
  • Expertise with financial modeling and knowledge of general predictive modeling techniques, such as regression analysis, customer profiling and segmentation, needs analysis, and other types of quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques
  • Sports or Entertainment industry experience preferred, but not required

Senior Accountant - Golden State Warriors (Oakland, CA)

About the Position

The Senior Accountant will be an integral contributor to the finance and business operations of the Golden State Warriors and will have a broad range of responsibilities including all aspects of the monthly close, GL responsibilities, fulfilling the external reporting requirements of government agencies and developing process efficiencies. The individual in this position must be a self-starter and possess great attention to detail, strong financial acumen, high aptitude for technology and financial systems and a strong desire and ability to work within a dynamic environment.

This is a full-time position reporting to the Controller and is based in Oakland, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the month-end close process and communicate with other departments to ensure all information requirements and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Prepare, review, upload and post journal entries.
  • Prepare budget-to-actual variance analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure all Company liabilities are properly accrued for.
  • Conduct special research and projects for the G/L as required.
  • Watch for areas of improvement within our processes, make suggestions and implement process improvements.
  • Manage intercompany transactions.
  • Manage league reporting requirements and insure timely submission and compliance.
  • Assist in annual and off-cycle audit preparations. Assist preparing needed reports, reconciliations and back up supporting schedules for the external auditors.
  • Manage sales tax, property tax and business tax tracking and reporting.
  • Manage all aspects of fixed asset tracking approval and classification.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years’ experience working in an accounting related role.
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger, journal entry preparation, monthly & annual close processes.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles/practices, internal controls, budget development, projections & variance analysis.
  • Ability to prepare, organize, analyze and present complex financial information.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and issue financial information in a timely manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and time manage workload.
  • Ability to work independently, be a supportive colleague and team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software.

Senior Technical Operations Manager, Warriors Studio - Golden State Warriors (Oakland, CA)

Position Overview

The Warriors Studio is a newly created department in the Golden State Warriors Digital Marketing department.  It is staffed with nationally recognized award-winning professionals who are committed to excellence and being best in class. 

We are seeking an innovative and creative “genius” that possesses exceptional operational skills.  This person will be responsible for setting and executing our Technical and Media Management strategy for Warriors Studio.   This includes overseeing and collaborating with other teams and stakeholders in the creation and distribution of high-quality content. 

This position will report directly to the Senior Executive Producer of Warriors Studios. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Avid ISIS server integration and interplay database, both at Oracle Arena and Front Office HQ
  • Provide process for media and metadata and police media clips within server
  • Troubleshoot with producers, writers and editors on editing projects, an provide a “first-line of defense” support for Avid
  • Manage various vendor relationships and the technical operations of all edit and ingest stations within Warriors Studios
  • Oversee Production Assistants and the process of cataloging and inputting metadata
  • Identify and evaluate new and emerging video delivery technologies
  • Manage and direct the resources dedicated to media management
  • Support, maintain and oversee live video production
  • Handle all video and/or audio editing and encoding
  • Manage video assets and archives as well as other post-production tasks
  • Ensure that deadlines are met and that videos meet the required standard from inception to delivery
  • Provide overall support for the Video Division of the Production Department
  • Participate as a team member of the Production Department in specific areas of strength and skill (e.g. live audio production, equipment maintenance, etc.)
  • Manage the infrastructure of video files and related assets

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform generic and specific, historic and investigative video research; ability to identify, verify, and differentiate a variety of visual information and details within video content
  • Proficiency in managing files and file transfers across local and remote servers and storage networks, including naming conventions and version control
  • Experience in file-based digital repositories
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with video file formats and properties, in addition to video transcoding principles. Familiarity with media asset life cycles in a production environment
  • Ability to understand the components and stages of news production
  • Experience or familiarity with Production/Media Asset Management systems
  • Proficiency in cataloging time-based material
  • Attention to detail, and ability to maintain accuracy and precision across multiple records
  • Prior experience in cataloging media assets in one or more large scale databases
  • Knowledge and understanding of various recognized standards for describing media assets
  • Familiarity and understanding of Knowledge Management principles for organizing large information sets across enterprise systems, and experience using or creating controlled vocabularies or taxonomies in one or more subject-specific areas
  • Proficiency and adaptability in extracting, mapping, normalizing, and migrating data across various programs, applications, and/or platforms. Understanding of information arrangement for, or experience in, building relational databases
  • Ability to assess and adjust attention to assigned workflows, and to suggest and provide alternatives to workflows when needed
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work individually and in a group setting on multiple timetables while maintaining focus and professionalism, and negotiate needs and personalities in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to respond to the needs of the business on a 24/7 availability work environment, including possible weekend or overnight shifts as needed

Required Experience

  • Three to five years of broadcasting experience
  • Use and familiarity with the Avid Suite (Interplay, Access, Central, Media Composer) 
  • Project management

  • Familiarity with operating equipment in a live production environment
