Description
Serve as the chief executive of the team. Plan, develop, and establish objectives and policies for the team in accordance with League directives and business charter. Build a profitable organization with a recognized quality product and winning team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Direct and coordinate all aspects of the team business operations including ticket sales, sponsorship sales, marketing, game operations, public relations, community relations and finance
• Participate actively in business development for both ticket sales and sponsorships
• Develop, supervise, and evaluate the team management staff. Evaluate performance of managers for compliance with established team policies and objectives, and contribution in attaining objectives
• Develop annual short term and long range strategic business plans
• Implement and manage the franchise business operations budget
• Work with Basketball Operations to develop cohesive and integrated programs using players and coaches
• Develop strong grass roots programs to promote women’s basketball and develop new fans
• Interact with league personnel on all matters concerning the franchise
• Maximize profit and return through the overall management of the business and staff
• Direct all aspects of the team operations, including establishing all programs undertaken in the arena
• Create, present and execute a strong strategic vision
• Establish policies and procedures for all business operations in conjunction with Business Manager
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree
• Candidate will have 7 or more years of business experience
• The candidate must be committed to building a world-class operation in both business and team performance
• Must have proven experience in working cooperatively with management, success at managing staff, and be an effective communicator preferably having experience in public speaking and interaction with the media
• Experience in managing in the television and entertainment industry, in the travel and convention industry, or in a sports-oriented organization a plus
• Strong leadership skills a must
